Best fitness tracker

Featured Replies

I will be moving over to Thailand next month and want to but a new fitness tracker/sports watches. Are the readily available to buy in Bangkok? Specifically I am looking at a Garmin Vivoactive 3 or something similar or perhaps even a Garmin Forerunner 935. Any advice or information on prices and warranties of buying these watches in Thailand would be really appreciate as I just recently broke my current GPS watch.

Thanks as always JS.

Garmin are readily available from several physical stores, as well as online (Lazada for example). I have a Forerunner 935 for running/trail running/hiking/gym workouts. Cost was about 19k baht when I bought it, although may be a little cheaper now.

I chose the 935 as it's light, provides a ton of metrics, and both the HR monitor and GPS are class leading.

If you are looking for something a little more 'casual', then the Vivosmart 3 is an excellent choice.

Thanks for the info. I will wait and buy the 935 when I get to Thailand. It's expensive, but the reviews seem to suggest that it's excellent.

I have the Garmin Vivosmart 3, which is the fitness band. It has most of the features of the more expensive Garmin models at quite a bit lower price. I have had it for about 1 year now. The only concern I have is that the band is not replaceable which means if the band breaks it pretty much becomes junk. Other than that, it works quite well.

I use Apple Watch 2 and the app MapMyRun. Looking to upgrade to the Apple Watch 3 as it has GPS and I could continue to use MapMyRun. Plus didn’t want to loose all my workout data from the last few years if I swapped to Garmin. Some reports online say that the GPS calibration are basically the same between Apple and Garmin then other reports say Garmin is more accurate. I do like the look of the Vicoactive 3 but since another poster said you can’t replace the strap I’ve went off the watch.

Still looking for a new tracker, basically for jogging and gym workouts. Flying down to BKK next week for a couple of days so might have a look at the Garmin again.

Being able to have music on the watch and to use android pay would also be handy. I believe the Vivoactive 3 music has both of these.
