Soi Post-Office: Guest House crackdown?

Recommended Posts

Will be in Pattaya in a couple of weeks. Will reside in Soi Post-Office or Soi Yamato. A practical question: Has the area been affected by the Guest-House/Hotel "crackdown" yet? Any other recent changes in the area?
Thx & cheers.

Pattaya is pretty empty. Lots of places for sale or on holiday or remodeling with again a new owner.

You will find 100's of guesthouses and hotels at bottom prices. Agoda has tons of deals... Have a nice vacation mate. MS^

Places are raided randomly , no way to predict when , where and who.

on the upside , if raided, in Pattaya at least , they do not kick guests out. Nor force business to cancel any bookings

Pattaya is very busy given its the so called slow season. But it is not a rammed as Dec and Jan. You should have no trouble getting digs where you describe.

Quite a few Indians roaming around, some Arabs and plenty of Chinese passing through. Western tourists? Hardly any, never seen it so quiet.

Only European in SB and LKM. Mainly Europeans in the Soi 13s. Basically this is the busiest July in ten years. Lots of Koreans,  Japanese, Hong kongers and Thais. Its incredibly busy.

PLEASE: Not about Pattaya in general. Focus is on Soi Post-Office/Soi Yamato only.
But as long as "the manic" sees a lot of Westerners in the Soi 13's, I would conclude that the "crackdown" has left some Guest-Houses in operation.
Others making observations in this particular area concerning "changes"?
Cheers.

Going back to Geographics (Soi Post Office/Yamato only)

Drugs? Of course there are drugs available. 4 Pharmacies.
Also cozy old fashioned Guest-Houses and cozy old "Garage-Sized Bars". 3 barbers, 17 massage parlors, 4 GoGo's, Farang food (Supermarket/Restaurants) and the beach. 2 Internet Cafes, 1 Starbucks + 1 McDonalds and so much more.
And all within a 200 meter walking distance.
That's why I like this spot in Pattaya, fearing that eventually it will be replaced by "Boutique-Hotels, "Boutique Barbers" and "Boutique female companions" and "Boutique-Tourists".
That's why I am asking about the state of affairs in this particular area at this time, knowing well that I would not make a good "Boutique-Tourist".
Cheers.

Business as usual from Soi Post Office to Soi 10. Did my early morning run just now. No need to worry. Cleaning crews out and early birds at coffee. MS>
