North Korea appears to be building one or two ICBMs - Washington Post

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - North Korea appears to be building one or two new liquid-fuelled intercontinental ballistic missiles at a factory that produced the country's first missiles capable of reaching the United States, the Washington Post reported on Monday.

The newspaper, citing unidentified officials familiar with intelligence reporting, said U.S. spy agencies were seeing signs of the construction at a large research facility in Sanumdong, on the outskirts of Pyongyang.

The findings are the latest to suggest ongoing activity in North Korea's nuclear and missile facilities despite arms talks with the United States and a recent summit between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump.

U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee last week that North Korea was continuing to produce fuel for nuclear bombs despite its pledge to denuclearize. But he insisted the Trump administration was still making progress in its talks with Pyongyang.

Trump said in a Twitter post after his historic summit with Kim in Singapore last month: "Everybody can now feel much safer than the day I took office. There is no longer a Nuclear Threat from North Korea."

Kim committed in a broad summit statement to work towards denuclearisation, but Pyongyang has offered no details as to how it might go about that.

If the information came from any US intelligence agency Trump will simply call it fake news.

He has already said that he doesn't trust or believe them

Of course if he does believe them,  then as usual he has changed his mind, again.

Well, that wasn’t predictable ?

Lucky all of the military exercises are canceled indefinitely with South Korea and Japan.

Maybe the promise of the Trump hotel with a McDonalds and KFC is not happening after all?

I think Kim glued the Elton John CD to the nose cone ?

Kim probably told Donnie that "we may build more missiles that could reach USA, but I promise we won't aim at US. Maybe Chad or someplace like that. Not to worry". And thought "Jeez, this is just too easy..."

The lessons of World War 2, apparently unlearned. When you reduce a population of crypto-simians to a slavering pack of mendicants, lined up with begging bowls, you tend to drive home the point that further belligerence will NOT be tolerated. When you use corporate "diplomacy" where REAL life is never at stake. You are seen as weak and someone who need not be taken seriously. I despise Trump and everything he stands for but feral cunning is supposedly his strong point. He is not showing it.

so what?  there's been no denukularization agreement yet...., just an agreement to keep talking in talks leading to another agreement to set a conference to form a committee to jointly call for beautiful chocolate cake.

rocket man has ceased nukular tests and missile launches.

orange julius has suspended war games.

...........talks continue.  you gotta ask - what is the agenda of the media reporting on kim's "cheating" when there is no agreement or treaty on which to cheat.

I believe that Kim was OK with denuclearization after meeting Trump...  but then Mike Pompeo tried to make it all about US:
July 5-7, 2018: U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo visits Pyongyang and meets with Kim Yong Chol "to continue consultations and implement the forward progress" from the June 12 U.S.-North Korean summit. Pompeo characterized the talks as "productive" and "good-faith negotiations" but the North Korean Foreign Ministry released a statement after the visit characterizing U.S. proposals as "unilateral and robber-like denuclearization demands," further claiming that they "go against the spirit of the North-U.S. summit meeting."...

So who to blame, North Korea for trying or the Trump administration...

And it's the same with Iran... telling them that they have to change to follow US/Western standards and not arm militias in the Arabic world... while US are arming countries and militias in the Arabic world that are against Iran... talk about double standards...........

You believe Kim was OK with denuclearization????  OMG....I have a some lovely swampland in Florida I would love to sell you!!!  You must be totally blind to history.  Kim has never followed ANY international guidelines, UN resolutions or treaties EVER.  He murders his own relatives, imprisons a large  number of his fellow countryman, starves the rest and you believe him????? Are you drinking too much soju?

Interesting how you blame Trump for US/Western Iranian policies since the Iranian "denuclearization"/moratorium was signed under Obama.

Ok , I stopped reading right there.

See no evil.

There are publicly available photos of the new ICBM assembly sites, and photos of trucks moving existing missiles.

But maybe best not to read anything if you're easily spooked.
