August 22, 20187 yr Use Airport Limousine and it's 150baht to the old city. They have an office right there at domestic arrivals. Give the lady at the desk your destination and she'll tell you the price and give you a receipt then proceed to the exit and give to the person with the clipboard and they'll assign to the driver. Pay driver on arrival at destination. Nothing easier.

Yes they do : "Chiang Mai province is introducing a new mode of transportation, the R3 bus, for travelers to and from the airport on 5 April 2018. The R3 bus service connects Chiang Mai airport with Nimman district in Chiang Mai city center. The new route is scheduled to run every 20 minutes and will take 15-25 minutes to get to Nimmanhaemin, a famous attraction for tourists, and 35 minutes to Tha Pae Gate from the Airport."
