Featured Replies

Tell that the Chinese touragent. These trips are booked and paid for in China, if they can't swim it should be dealt with there.

  • What I don't understand is why it is necessary to be wearing a life jacket while trying to snorkel. The primary design of all life jackets/preservers is to hold the body, face up, at an approx. 45 deg

Don't see how it's possible to drown while wearing a life jacket and snorkelling. Unless run over by a boat or jetski.

Yes, a "daughter" (from the headline) is pretty much always female.

...or inhaling water, perhaps; isn't snorkeling done with the face in the water?

God that’s sad they really need to train thease tour operators and hold them accountable condolences to the young woman’s family

Was the tour operator responsible for this woman's death?

One thing TAT won't promote is that Thailand is the hub of tourists deaths.

Could be because it isn't.

No real need to swim if you dive or snorkel. The buoyancy jacket keeps you afloat.

Do you need to swim to take a bath?

Death while snorkelling is a bit odd, and there must be more to the story they haven't revealed.

I'm still betting she was hit by a boat or jetski.

Although Hawaii is also having a snorkel death problem recently, about 17/year.

So it's not an entirely Thai problem.

Perhaps the snorkel 'tube' got filled with water whilst she inhaled?
