Want to get a half decent watch for my birthday in September.

Prices for some half decent watches (such as Citizen, Luminox) seem much much cheaper in Lazada than in Central, Robinson etc?

Is buying watches from Lazada dodgy? Anyone had any experience? Any thoughts very grateful

Thanks

I bought my boy a G Shock from Robinson. Shopped it on Lazada and the price was pretty close.

That said, if it was actually from Lazada, I wouldn't be too concerned.

I bought a Casio Ediface the latest model off Lazada for 6,600 baht the cheapest price I could find in the shops was 10,500 baht all good and all original, but if your sceptical you can choose to buy from supplied by Lazada.

I never thought about buying a watch from Lazada but will be interested to know how it goes for you if you choose to do so.  I just checked their site and it appears that Japanese and South Korean sellers have good ratings.

Does anybody know what the import duties are for watches?  You might find a better deal through one of the grey market dealers such as Jomashop even when duties (depending on how much they are) are figured into it.

I was looking at the new G-Shock Gravitymaster at the Central Watch Fair - 'Exclusive to Central' sticker on the display, 12,000 THB.

Found the same watch on Lazada for 7,700 THB - arrived yesterday.

I like the service and convenience of Central stores, but not enough to justify a more than 30% price gap.

I compared a somewhat higher class watch, a Tissot V8 model.

21428 Baht ~ 560 Euro. And it's shipped from USA.

That's NOT cheap compared to a German watch shop at 490 Euro.

I would sure not use Lazada for that.

Best to give some examples.

I have just received an e-mail from Lazada stating " order cancelled contact seller on Chat Now " .

Does anybody know how this works or where the Chat Now button is?

When you log in to your Lazada account - the chat box should appear at the right side of the screen (on a laptop)

Isn't that just to chat with Lazada , Lazada sent me this " Please contact sellers directly through Chat Now for more information".

Problem solved , overseas sellers do not have Chat Now.

I would use Jomashop for that Tissot...only US$289 (€247)
