Hi,

I need to get a Certificate of Residence from Chiang Mai Immigration to complete the transfer of vehicle ownership.

I already have a letter from my condo certifying I live there. What other documents do I need to complete the application?

Is there an agent at Promenada that can expedite the process? If so, where?

Thanks in advance for constructive replies.

Have you had a TM30 report done reporting your presence at at the condo. That will be one requirement and you may be fined if it has not been done.

I think there are agents that can expedite getting a certificate of residency.

Thanks Ubon Joe. Yes, TM30 has been done. I have a "receipt of notification" stapled into my passport.

I was quoted 1500 baht by my regular visa agent who is not at Promenada. I think that's a bit steep for something I understand Immigration does free. Willing to be corrected on that.

It is only free if you are willing to a wait a few weeks for it from what I understand. I can recall reports of it being 500 baht to get it the same day.

CM immigration does do these certificates for free. But they take about 10 working days to process, or at least they did in July this year when I did mine . You need to go to a small office on the second floor,  same as for the TM30.  There are no queue numbers so it could be a bit of a free for all. Be there no later than 8.30am when they open. They only do these applications in the morning.
