For Ubonjoe

Featured Replies

Hi Ubonjoe just a quick question. My mate crossed the border into Cambodia at Had Lek today after flying into Bkk about 3 weeks ago and was told that he cannot cross by land again back into Thailand as he has done it already 2 times this year . About every 3 months he flies into Thailand , stays 2-3 weeks then goes to Koh Kong in Cambodia visits friends there then comes back into Thailand and flies back to Oz . He was told he could fly back in if he wanted to . Can you please tell me the current ruling on this .

Much appreciated Barney .

There are many members that can answer your question.

There is a limit of two visa exempt land entries per calendar year (Jan 1st - Dec 31st). There is no set limit when entering by air.

If your friend has made two land entries since Jan 1st they can’t do anymore this year unless they have a visa.

Thank you for that . I will inform him that he has to head to PP and fly from there .

In the future, your friend should be aware that he can buy a re-entry permit that keeps his current permission to stay intact when he visits friends for a few days. This avoids the need for a fresh (visa exempt) entry. He can do this at his local immigration office on payment of 1,000 baht. I cannot remember if there is a re-entry permit desk at Hat Lek that he could use just before crossing the border.

Might be specified that the not set limit - entering by air from anywhere.

Just wanted to clarify, as some might translate this as: entering/departing by air only from one's passport country.

Nice straight forward info.

Cheers!!

No. The correct way is not to use a topic title that suggests that only one member should reply.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place
