Police in the eastern Bangkok area have hit back at claims they fined a woman with a souped-up green pick-up truck for being in possession of a vehicle that was not roadworthy.

The woman - who went on Facebook to complain - was having problems on Rama 2 road on Monday in heavy traffic and cars were stacked up for miles.

She said she was ticketed by a traffic police constable called Somporn.

The reality, said a Saemdam police spokesman, was that the cops helped the woman move the vehicle to the side of the road and gave her further assistance in contacting a towing company.

She had said her clutch had gone but she wouldn't move the vehicle until a friend arrived. The cops said that leaving the vehicle blocking the evening rush hour traffic was not an option.

They took her license but returned it soon after without a fine.

Perfectly reasonable request by the Fed's if it was an obstruction .. Clutch gone .! If it was actuation issue's ( hydraulics or cable ain't sure what they've got ) just start it in gear covering the brake at the same time and move it off the road ..

Of course it's fake news....the RTP would never give a ticket for an unroadworthy vehicle.....!

Or, any other traffic infractions.  How DARE she spread the fake news that the police do police work.

Silly girl, everyone knows that there is no such thing as an unroadworthy car in Thailand. No tail lights, no problems, no headlights, no problem, no brakes, no problem, no license, no problem... and so on and so forth.

Do most females, or even males, in Thailand know that both standard and automatic vehicles have clutches?  Oh, hold on.  I forgot to ask what type of clutch is she referring to, the one to help change gears or the human kind?
