2 word: Firefox adblock - then it is bye-bye to Happy BJ Girl

With Firefox ad-block, do all adverts become hidden or can you hide selected ones? If all get hidden, that could be a bit too much for my liking, and also some sites (not necessarily TV) would then become mis-aligned with their Ads hidden.

If you have firefox then get the ad-block add-on, then you can wave happy bj girl goodbye!

Dunoo if these ad blockers are any better than they useta be, but I hope not. Many, many useful sites, like TV, will disappear if they cannot even earn the little bit of revenue to keep them going. Think well before propegating adblockers.

PS. I have no sites earning via ads, but I'd hate many useful sites to fall away because they cannot pay their own way.

Right, this is my situation: If I continue to use TV with those Asian Friend Finder ads then my wife will not be happy. She doesn't care that it isn't that sort of sight. She just wants to know why I am looking at a site with those ads! Simple logic doesn't come into it.

I don't want to get into a debate about loss of revenue. What was wrong with the older adverts? These newer ones with pics and details that look like they are part of the website are the ones I want to block.

Peace out

in all fairness I have to agree with DSK.

This is not that kind of site, and frankly, I internet in a wifi cafe, and meet people here, and it is a bit strange and embarrassing to have all these ad's for ugly birds accross every page, every forum, every thread.

When i was in france there were girls from Nice looking for me,

when I was in New Delhi, there were girls in New Delhi

now it's rochester and manchester.

I'm a male slut, sure, but I don't need it on my web pages.

Yeah, I find myself having to very quickly shift down the page if I go on to TV at work where about a dozen Thai people have plain view of my screen. Makes it annoying to use TV having to remember to quickly hide a huge 1000 x 200 pixel banner filled with rather unpleasant looking content.

Is there any chance we could have some input from Admin about this?

Is there any chance we could have some input from Admin about this?

especially since TV is trying to keep a "clean" image (which I appreciate) by leaving the bar discussions to other forums.

thanks raro.. again, A "bump" post here. Could we get some feedback.

I don't care about ad blockers (agreeing with a train of though mentioned earlier, happy to put up with ads and when the ad is good... market power, I click on it from time to time...) but i don't want to be ashamed about being on thaivisa. Asiafriend finder is horrendous, makes me feel like I'm on a smut site.

admin? Bump'

It makes me wonder.

When I use the Canadian WiFi connection here (in Kandahar, Afghanistan), I get shown a batch of girls that are supposedly in Kabul.

When I connect to the Dutch WiFi service, I get shown girls from Eindhoven (Holland).

Now I have a hard-wired connection (not broadband though), and I get a message that Girls in "Satellite Provider" are looking to meet me !! :D

I was kinda hoping that they would be strange, alien chicks (and wondering what kind of "sick buffalo" stories they would have), but alas, they are the same pics of the same girls that are supposedly in Kabul and Eindhoven (and now residing in "Satellite Provider").

It would be nice if they changed the pics once in awhile, or at least used different pics for different locations :o

What's happening is webmasters are starting to put files the users need into the same directories as the ads, making it difficult for users to block all ads in one rule, but do them all individually instead.

I think if you design your site so as to not let the ads be too invasive, it'll make less people look for blocking tools.

One way to help if you use the site is not to click on banners just to run the click count up, as that does no good, and costs the advertiser also, but if you want any product or service by online shopping, see if a site you like is advertising it and go through their link. If you want say, a domain name registered and you go directly to the site the registrar gets all $10 or whatever you pay. If you click a banner for that registrar on a site you still pay the same but the site that you've been using for free now get's $1.50 in commission to go towards it's costs. If it's just a billboard type of ad for an offsite business, tell them "I saw your banner on ________ site" This encourages them to keep supporting the site.

Both of these cost you nothing, but add up to healthy and stable sites for you to use.

It makes me wonder.

I like the link messages

"I declare a jihad on you, baby"

"Bring some light into my life"

Well, looks like they missed a trick here then! :o

I realise that they pick up on where your computer is & that's why you get (fairly) local contacts, but what exactly are they picking up from my data that keeps bringing up "girls seeking girls"??? If they somehow know I'm a woman, why am I not getting men at the top of my screen? :o Are they making assumptions, or do they know something I don't....??

Sister George, time for my paranoia meds again!!

the wabbit and I found an online questionaire and filled it in for you - we had no idea that it would be so much fun :D Has the Amazon with the bull whip and tub of iced jello turned up for Easter yet? Had to use Seugha's credit card for that one and wasn't cheap let me tell you.

I like te one on the lower right, in white;..... but my wife says she wouldn't qualify to be our Mia Noi since she's a cave girl... :o

Wait...the wife gets to approve the Mia Noi? That might ruin all of my plans...

So that's where this started:

I like the part in the upper-right (looking to......"own" a "woman/camel/goat")

The descriptions are pretty accurate, except that most of them are probably lying about their age (after all, most of the women here are illiterate and uneducated. Probably don't really know for sure how old they are)

Sure...I've seen at least eight of these chicks shopping at my vegetable vendor in Vancouver. Last I heard, we don't have any caves here; tents in Stanley Park maybe, but no caves. This is a terrorist plot.

OI! :D :D He lies NR!! He did it by himself, when I was in the bog.

Never did get any feeback from admin though. :bah:

Actually lately , every time CuteKitten of Samut Prakhan appears temptingly

at the top of the screen , there's an ad for a home HIV test just above.

Is this a coincidence ?

:o

This is possibly one of the most irrelevant threads on bedlam. I MEAN it started as a rant against the ads and now it has become an appreciation thread. I think i was the O.P on this, hence I request its closure.

  • 3 weeks later...

Upon opening bedlam tonight, instead of being greeted by 'happybjgirl; and 'NO PHOTO' I got this.

etc etc ad infinitum

Can we keep that? ... nobody looks anyway.

I guess the internet provider here has changed hosts or something, as now all the girls are supposedly from Hong Kong ! Funny thing though,

as they are the same pics and names as they were when they were supposedly from Kabul or Holland or "Satelitte Provider" ! :o

I'd be happy if they just changed the pics and names once in awhile, add a little variety to things.

Hong Kong women have to be an improvement over the Kabul ones though. Unless I'm missing the reason

for your returning to Afghanistan :o

Ya, and how come they don't have any boy pics, either?

Who stretched the page?

Well, your wish seems to have been partially granted as the ads have disappeared for now, thankfully.

Hmmm, I'm still getting them, in this forum and across the top of the "Replying to" page.

Got to tell you, "missinguinyr200" is looking pretty scary. "GoodGirl28 has become "mission99", and apparently changed her address as well.

Sheesh, these women get around more than your average poor, sweet, innocent Thai farm-girl (i.e. your average BG). :o

Using a method that can not be talked about, I just virtually relocated myself to 'the Stan'

:o

That has got to be the second sexiest thing I've seen in almost 3 years here in the 'stan !!!!! :bah:

(should be wearing a burqua though, that wanton, slutty beast !)

Oh yeah. The sexiest thing I've seen here so far ?

The plane that flies me out of here and back to Thailand !!! :D

Sizeable ? Hardly ! :D

Ex-Army ? Yeah, OK. :D

BEER ? Not likely ! Maybe a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey (unless I don't like you, then it would be a bottle of Sang Som !) :bah:

And if I was to show up "in the early hours" with booze and a smile, you'd better hope that I also have a girl on my arm ! :o
