Yes, technically, she could be his daughter considering the 23 year age spread. That (small) spread between two mature adults hardly puts him in the category of a pedo.

Hell, if that were the case, according to your logic, I and many other farangs are now considered pedos. Can't say as I feel like one!

Its not unusual at all for there to be significant age differences in age between Thai ladies and Farang men.

The women think that an older man is more reliable, financially secure, and less likely to go playing the field as many Thai males do when they marry.

TV posters that are making a big thing of the age difference between Mr, Unsworth and his wife, really are small minded, and have very little experience of life in Thailand

I feel that Vernon is taking a high risk by sueing Musk. Musk could not be that stupid by calling him a child pedo for no reason. If Musk were to present some of Vernon's peso evidents then he would be a dead meat!

Smart people make mistakes. Musk stated that he is under immense pressure and having a very tough year. He has made a number of high profile mistakes in a short period of time. His false statement about securing funding to take Tesla private will cost him billions of dollars! That's not a little mistake.

Why doesnt Musk give details of his allegation ?

Where is the alleged 12 year old Wife of Verns ?

That would be easy to prove .

Most people who have spent decades in Thailand have quite a lot they would rather keep quiet about.

Perhaps, but Unsworth has not spent decades in Thailand, despite Musk falsely claiming that he had. In court papers filed as part of the lawsuit, his lawyers have stated that Unsworth first travelled to Thailand in 2011. That being so, it suggests this was after having met his girlfriend in England (as has has been widely reported, they met in the UK and have been together for 7 years).

His lawyers are highly unlikely to have either lied or made a mistake regarding the date of his first trip here, given that it is something that forms part of the lawsuit and could be relatively easily checked.  Also, based on previous reports in UK newspapers he normally only spends about half the year in Thailand so he may have only spent around three and a half years in Thailand to date - and seemingly, has only ever stayed in Chiang Rai (not in Pattaya) so that's two more things thing Musk lied about, apparently.

Called him a pedo . . . what?  A pedodontist?  I guess that is pretty bad.  I don't much care for dentists, either.

As transam implied, you're a little out of date with the full extent of Musk's allegations.

As per the lawsuit, Musk has:

Quote

falsely accused Mr. Unsworth of being a (1) a pedophile ,(2)a child rapist, (3) a child sex-trafficker,(4) the husband of a 12-year old child bride, and (5) a liar.

You have to wonder about Musk's state of mind to get entrenched in something so minuscule to the world he deals with on a daily basis...that said he does seem to be in meltdown with Tesla, alienating the board, his share holders, his car owners....it's as though he's on a self serving suicide mission to wreck the company along with himself

Musk Net worth around $23 B

If he loses a hundred mil he wouldn't even notice but he could drag poor old Vern through the courts for probably years....

I anticipate a counter-suit as well as a dismissal of charges from Musk.  Oh, Mr. Unsworth, I really hope you have the money for a sustained court battle because everyone knows those with exceptional wealth can intentionally drag out court battles until the lesser... *ahem* endowed... party can no longer afford the trial.

I believe Mr Musk will earn more in PR and such that what it will cost him if he looses the trials, The whole world will keep an eye on this even after its settled in court.

I cannot see Musk getting any positive PR out of this .

I wouldnt want to be associated with any of  the pot smoking foul mouthed persons products

Try telling that to Vern

We're still talking about him, most probably don't know the names of any of the other divers/team.  Vern Unsworth will be able to sell a book and make plenty, even if he loses a lot in the process.

Musk lawyers will tell him to write a cheque before any court and Vern will sign an nda to never mention this crap again

We'll see.  Only what's behind closed doors will show but Musk doesn't seem like the type of person to just settle out of court.  Musk has a pretty strong case being the schoolyard rules, he didn't start it, he just retaliated.  That doesn't make him right, but if Musk can provide an iota of evidence, even the smallest, he wins.  If Musk proves he was wronged and reacted rather than acted, he wins.  Both lead to counter-suits.  I honestly think Vern saw moneybags and has got in over his head.  Musk is an <deleted> but he's also a genius.  Genius and money don't make a good person but they DO make for someone who is generally calculated on things like this.

If musk is determined to win

He could pay a witness to say some lie about Vern years ago

Well there is one observation missing from all the posters who 'support' Vern

There was a whole team, busting a gut, time and effort, a race against time, to come up with something, anything, that maybe of use to assist in the rescue of those children in the cave if the water levels rose.  They stepped up and made an effort, in what could have ended up a desperate situation. The possibility of the water rising was so real they were encouraged to continue by a caving expert.

Those thoughtful, concerned, generous, hard working people, surely did not deserve their efforts condemned as a PR stunt.

So how to compensate those guys..........

Yes, all the guys were in the water , working tirelessly in extreme conditions and Musk was in the TV studios telling the World about his drilling company , how far his drills can dig , telling the World about his submarine and about the efforts that Musk is putting into save the kids .

Elon Musk and his team of divers trying to save the kids .............oh yeah, he did also tell the world about his space exploration plans , and the drill that he wants to use to make a hole for the kids to escape can also be used on the moon , that's what his company plans to do , drill holes on the moon .

Welcome to the Elon Musk show .

All that free publicity gained from  what could have been a disaster had the kids not survived

He actually wasn't in TV studios, what are you talking about?
Also, there are recorded conversations between him and a member of the dive team telling him not only to do it but that anything is helpful and how appreciated his efforts are.
Regarding tunnels, there are two choices on our planet at present, build up or build down, either way, the land of this planet is saturated and building down at least prevents eyesores which is exactly why a huge tunnel was just dug through the city of Seattle and the viaduct (which was "built up" as a two layer freeway), which blocked the views of the waterfront and was a terrible thing to do to a city with such beauty around it, was torn down.

You should get outside more and read news that doesn't fit your particular agenda.

According to CNN, billionaire Elon Musk is sending specialist engineers to Thailand to help aid the rescue of the 12 boys and their football coach trapped in a cave. Tesla Ceo and Founder, Musk, hopes his engineers will be able to join and assist in the already huge operation being carried out he Tham Luang Nang Non cave complex. Dozens of Thai Navy SEALs and international experts are attempting to find a way to get the boys out safely and efficiently. Musk, founder of the Boring Company and Space X tweeted Thursday: "SpaceX & Boring Co engineers headed to Thailand tomorrow to see if we can be helpful to govt.".

I'm not sure I understand your point?  You are cherry picking.  Engineers were sent after the mini-sub was created, literally with the mini-sub and it was left in Thailand in case needed in the future.  Can you elaborate?  The part you put in bold is silly because everyone travels to see if they can be of help without certainty that they can.  That's just syntax and the way things are stated.  No one says "We are going to *location* to prove we can help".

All about himself and his companies abilities .

Advertising and promoting his Companies .

At the time there were about 1000 divers in the cave , trying to get to the kids and not speaking to the media , Musk was on TV and tweeting about his companies , getting free publicity , that is why Vern spoke to him condescendingly

"Musk says SpaceX and Boring Company can help rescue the Thai soccer team. Elon Musk announced on Twitter Friday morning that his companies SpaceX and the Boring Company, which specializes in drilling, would join the mission to rescue the 12 boys trapped in a cave in northern Thailand. The companies’ engineers could contribute with their expertise in energy storage and drilling, he said.  But he eventually followed up, tweeting that since the Boring Company has “advanced ground penetrating radar & is pretty good at digging holes,” it could probably help. He also added that they could send “fully charged Powerpacks,” referring to the the Tesla utility battery packs that the company also sent to Puerto Rico to combat power outages after Hurricane Maria. As of a few months ago, the Powerpacks were in 662 locations in Puerto Rico, and Electrek reported that the batteries were powering key facilities, including a hospital, sewage treatment plant, and a water pumping station. On June 3, Musk vaguely tweeted that Tesla has “about 11,000 projects underway in Puerto Rico.” But no other news has emerged since then. Musk has been criticized for failing to deliver on promises before; for example, Tesla had production issues with its Model 3 car and missed several deadlines, causing its shares to drop by 6 percent. ."

I'm not sure how a mini-sub profits SpaceX, The Boring Company or Tesla.  Can you elaborate?

In fact, let me go deeper.  We're talking about a South African immigrant who helped create some of the most famous companies in the world including Paypal vs.  A diver from England, (and pay attention now because this is the most important part) who NONE of the other divers have come out to defend in this situation.  I'm pretty sure that speaks volumes but hey, you do you.
