Junta chairman Prayuth Chan-ocha speaks to reporters Monday

BANGKOK — Ditching the evasive non-answers he’s given for months, junta chairman Prayuth Chan-ocha on Monday for the first time confirmed he’s interested in a political career.

Gen. Prayuth told reporters at the Government House he has yet to decide which party or who he will support, even as he maintained he will not quit his powerful posts as prime minister and junta chief while he mulls his political allegiance.

He's built quite a political career already, evading answering awkward questions.

“Since he says he’s interested, I think there will be many parties that are interested in inviting him, too,” Suchart said. “It’s up to him to decide.”

What about the ones that don't invite the PM? Will that anger him, and to quote him on that subject, "punch them in the face"?

Well, let's face it . . . he did convert from soldier to politician, way back in January. Or maybe it's taken since then for the playful one to understand the seriousness of 'politician'. Perhaps better for all concerned if he simply admitted that he was still a child, struggling to decide which fancy dress costume to wear.

I doubt if we'll see him as Superman, although he might see himself like that.

I'm sure he does. Wouldn't it be great, if he did this week's TV slot in a Superman outfit. Could be a vote-winner!

Can't wait to see him in the phone box, changing costume, with his underpants on the outside (probably not a good idea for Prawit though, given his recent 'medical emergency')

Does this mean he staged a coup and was not interested in politics?

No, it was money and money, alone. He was only interested - paranoid, more like - in stopping PTP-enabled funds, largely generated via elite/establishment taxes, etc, heading out into the sticks, towards us poor people. That made him and his kind so angry ???? you could literally fry an egg  - let's make that 3 eggs - on his forehead . . . ain't that right, Uncle Tu?

Get ready for more of the same...election result is a forgone conclusion and will end up with more Junta and more repressive change to the country everyone loved.

How is any Thai's everyday life repressed?

Do you know?

I doubt you will get any takers. It is way too late in the day to attempt to pull that one. Try Pornhub if you are bored...

so now he's interested in politics instead of take overs. Guy needs a hobby! Maybe he'll find an interest in collecting fancy watches.

legalize or decriminilize marijuana for use and he'll have more votes. If hes smart...

If he's smart: Or just say he will, but drag it out until 'elected' then ignore it.
