The Narcotics Suppression Bureau has already given 100 kilograms of seized marijuana to the GPO as raw material for their research.

Cannabis for narcotics might be high in THC – THC is the cannabinoid one can get high from – whilst medical cannabis normally shall be high in CBD and low THC.

One problem with the 100 Kg of weed they just got.

To make the oil, you need freshly harvested plants to extract the oil, not dried up buds.

But it's the thought that counts right! Anyway if they need help disposing of the dried up buds, just let me know. ????????????

Nonsense, high THC Full Plant Extract cannabis oil is used for many conditions, including curing cancer.

In many cases the high is part of the cure.

Call it placebo if you Will but feeling positive and high actually boosts the immune system or something. In clearly not a doctor but it seems to make sense.

According to science cancer cure research is made with the cannabinoids Δ9-THCA, CBC, CBD, CBDA og CBG (Δ8-THC and Δ9-THC are not included in the list). THC (Δ9-THC), however, is used for pain relief in connection with chemo-therapy, and pain relief or sedative in other treatments, for example sclerosis...????

Didn't we used to see seized drugs hauls being burnt? Where might this 100kg have come from, if it is all supposed to be disposed of?

Perhaps 'disposed of' is a better way to emphasise it.

Yes! And why would anyone in their right mind use confiscated cannabis? How do they know which strain it is? How do they know if it’s clean? It could have mold or bad fertilizers in it, it could be years old. If they really want to make this professionally they should develop a good strain first.

Kids shouldn't use any kind of drug. Why should the grown up part of the population have to 'suffer' just because some parents can't take care of their kids?

Again, totally wrong - dried buds will do just fine.

Science is still lagging behind the real world, where thousands of people are curing serious diseases, including cancer, with cannabis oil - containing high levels of THC. Google Rick Simpson and educate yourself.

Science is the best documentation for proof – and thanks, I know Rick Simpson and his efforts quite well.

I'm extremely positive for alternatives to common treatments, and medicine, but we also need "real world" documentation, and scientific results takes time. It's a difficult balance, and so far CBD seem to be the scientific in favorite...????

All the CBD hype is simply because it's legal and therefore highly profitable. The magic is in the whole plant, including THC, and none of your science will convince me otherwise. Research has been stifled by prohibition worldwide for decades, and I'm very confident that future research will bear me out.

Chronic pain or acute pain cases can be treated with Marijuana oil extract.

Especially those patients in their final stages of life from severe illness.

THere is a lot of other stuff, way more harmful then then marijuana. Just the simple cigarette is already one and Thai (as any other) government dont care, as they have a huge income on cigarettes.

BUt what about alcohol, now its said its harmful even in little portions. Never the less, young people go on holiday and drink themselves a coma.

Not just even holiday, but every weekend, maybe even every night. Alcohol gives also addiction and is harmful. you can drink yourself to death.

But ok you can also die drinking too much water.

You cant get marijuana, then what you do, you have something else, depending on what you run into. And it seems Thailand is becoming a growing market for all other drugs.

However proven is marijuana to be very effective with diseases, like Parkinson and the easiest way is to smoke it.

Of course in Thailand, it will be in the hands of the rich and government, just to make profit, not for being mankind loving.

They banned kratom, due to safe their profit in opium.  Kratom was used by Thai instead of opium, coz it became more expensive for the

Thai. Then they used kratom and for that the government in 1943  banned kratom, to safe their profit.

Saving the future for kids not smoking? Wake up., there will always be something else.

Thailand has 750 young people dying every year in suicide, well that is great !!

I knew the age old discussions / debate of alcohol vs weed would crop up. Looking at the facts and data, it is pretty silly to suggest that things are correct in making something that kills 10's of thousands of people a year legal, and something that doesn't directly kill anybody, and has medical properties illegal.

But anyway, I did consider something that is a little worrying. If Thailand does give this the go ahead to produce the worlds leading crops of legal medicinal weed, would they do it by the books and properly ..?
By that I mean, would they not use chemical pesticides on the plants that are ultimately harmful to health. Would they properly flush out any nutrients and growth boosters before harvesting? They would need to throughly research this stuff and make sure the anything they export is not been through a process of cutting corners trying to save money, and that meets industry standards.

It sounds like they’re doing fulll extracts (THC /CBD/terpenes) from confiscated Lao brickweed.

They dint know how it was grown, they don’t know what kind of pesticides/insecticides/fungicides were sprayed on it, they don’t know how it was stored or process or if it has mold on it.

The proper way to make medical extracts is to select a strain with the best THC/CBD ratio for the conditions you plan to treat with it, obtain verified seeds or cuttings from that strain and have experienced people grow it under controlled conditions.

That could be done in about six months from construction to extraction if funding and permits were in place.

Extracting 10-15 liters of  mystery oil using BHO or RSO could be done in a few weeks once the equipment was here.

The main problem doing extractions from confiscated brick week is that the ratios are wrong. It’s probably 10:1 THC/CBD when the range of 2:1 or 1:1 is the best for pain relief, seizure control, anti-emetics, anti-spasmodic effect.

you need pesticides? IN India where it is forbidden, the grow it right open in pieces of wild land in the cities and is used by the yogi's. No pesticides. But if Thailand wants to export, they ll need to comply on demands, otherwise its over.

However not long ago, a medicine against high blood pressure was taken from market, due to imperfections in components of the medicine. China !! made it wrong and there were toxic substances in it, causing cancer !! Hydrochlorothiazide, already on market for many years. How long with bad components?

ANother medicine, i will never use again, statines for high cholesterol, it will kill you slowly.

It helps on cholesterol, but in the long run you can have PArkinson disease, diabetics and many other side diseases. It also breaks down your Q10 enzym (very important anti oxidant) in your body. You still get it from your doctor, after all its big money !! NOT your health.

I quit due to having severe headaches starting after a year of taking it, doctor said migraine (you believe him somehow) and it took some while for me to figure out it was in the statines !! Now i dont know what it did to the rest of my body.

Sometimes medicines are worse then the disease.

Now i use curcuma, my specialist once said it would not work.  However my triglycerides ( the bad ones) are lower then before. Went down from 8 to 3, still some high, it should be 2. Not working? And thats just common curry powder, used in kitchen.

The use of medical marijuana (CBD - Canabidoids) has been fully legal in Canada since 2001. CBD’s do not get the user “High”. Starting next month on 17 October 2018, the use of recreational marijuana (THC) will also be fully legalized in Canada. Research and invest in Canopy Growth (CGC - Nasdaq) and Neptune Wellness (NEPT - Nasdaq) Smoking is not the way most will consume. Alternative delivery methods including Gel Caps, Beverages, Patches, Herbal Teas, etc is the direction the industry is going.
