In this case an investigation was just a waste of time and money. If there were any credible witnesses, their evidence would have been all over the WaPo and NYT by now. That there has been a thunderous silence says it all.

IMO and that of many, this entire episode has been only to try and hobble Trump and his agenda.

Given the death threats etc that she has received, and no doubt horrible effects on her family's lives from having to live under guard, it will hopefully stop others with zero credible evidence coming forward to try and stop conservative candidates succeeding. The entire political process in Washington is obviously under threat from such tactics.
