I find all the paperwork puzzling and regularly use the services outside. This time I was surprised by being told I had to pay a 1300-baht fine.

They apparently did not notice you had only traveled within the country. If they had noticed that they might of told you that it was not needed. Jomtien has not been reported as wanting reports after traveling within the country.

Yeah Imm at Jomtien is good.

If you are on retirement or tourist - yes.  But horrible if you want a Non-O 90-day stamp (near impossible - made-up non-rules galore) and problematic for a marriage extension (especially if you do not own your own condo - as if that should be at all relevant).

Sorry, I made it quite clear I was coming from Chiang Mai. Something about reporting residence was said, although it was the same person who helped with the initial TM30 to that address and had the paperwork in their hands.

Maybe the fine was for wasting their time filling in needless paperwork?

Should have said, "Not needed!"
