Ekachai Hongkangwan flashes the anti-junta ‘three-finger salute’ in May as he arrives at a Bangkok court.

BANGKOK — The military junta will file a police complaint against two pro-democracy activists for allegedly filing a false police complaint against the new army chief, an unidentified source from the junta said Monday.

The junta instructed its legal officers to report to police that Ekachai Hongkangwang and colleague Chokechai Paiboonratchata filed a false complaint alleging Gen. Apirat Kongsompong had committed treason. The activists went to the police Friday after Apirat said at a press conference that he couldn’t commit to not staging a coup if there are riots after elections slated for February.

And many more before them are also answerable to be sure

The army chief just making an opinion just like Thaksin. Junta law however differs in Interpretation.

Plutocracy interpretations and perspectives.

Nothing to see behind the curtain.

Move along now.....

Regarding successful coups: "To the victor goes the spoils."

Also, the victor makes the laws.  Unsuccessful coups would be deemed treason; successful coups are glorious, forward-thinking, change for the better.  "Happiness to the people!"

History is written by the victors.

Surely a coup is treason. So saying you cannot guarantee that you will not commit treason should result in removal from your position.  Anyway, Apirat Kongtingtong is a walking nut case.

Trouble making activists and associates.

Coups and the subsequent military occupations almost always receive an official and influential blessing.

So....technically - even ethically - not considered treasonous.

Accepted tradition. Behind the curtain politics.

I suppose that few have ever pondered as to the reasoning/whys and wherefores/promotions behind the historic cycle of coups.

The crux of the true cause and effect problems that has plagued Thailand for quite some time.

Slumbering continues.

No denying that they get the thumbs up, or should that be the thumbs down from behind the curtain. But treason includes the overthrow of government. So even if they have support from "above", surely they are still treasonous.

Anyway, it is a moot point. Unless and until the military have their wings clipped and are totally blocked from involvement in running the country, nothing will change.

Not to forget that the organizers of the coup threw a celebration party in full military uniforms.

Riots breakout so overthrow an elected government.  Mind numbing

Ekachai Hongkangwan is obviously too smart to live in Thailand

Yet, all apart of the amusing Thai sideshow.

Keeps us distracted.
