"Let the waves take me away" - heartbroken Thai man bares all with roses on Jomtien Beach Road

Na Jomtien police were called to Beach Road after reports reached the Phoo Yai Ban that a Thai man was lying naked on the footpath.

 

Tourists wondered what that was all about - here was a Thai man facing the sea butt naked surrounded by discarded roses and rose petals. 

 

Police came and at first Thongbai, 42, from Loei did not go quietly.

 

After a scuffled some clothes were found. 

 

He was reeking of booze so the officers took him in to sleep it off in the cells. 

 

He told Daily News:

 

"I'm not crazy - I have all my faculties. I'm heartbroken - my girlfriend has left me.

 

"I got some booze and wanted to show her how I felt". 

 

The roses were designed to bring some soap opera drama to the scene as Thongbai declared somewhat theatrically that he wanted the waves to take him away. 

 

He added that he hoped his girlfriend would see the error of her ways and take him back.

When he saw all the pollution floating in the sea,and possibly gagging to death on a used condom he must have changed his mind,still i don't think his efforts to win back his girl would have worked,most Thai women i have known are extremely emotionally strong and hard,often because they were betrayed by their first lover usually after they got preggers,never seen my wife cry or even look sad,angry sure,ex wife same.
