'Phoenix' investigation to wrap up within seven days

Officials say it will take up to seven days to understand the full cause of the Phoenix sinking while evidence continues to be collected.

 

Yesterday the Royal Thai Police Deputy Commander Gen Rungroj Saengkram, acting chief of Immigration, Maj Gen Surachete Hakparn and the Deputy Chinese Consul-General in Songkhla and Director of the China Consulate-General in Phuket Li Chun Foo inspected the Phoenixat Rattanachai Shipyard in eastern Phuket.

 

Gen Rungroj says, “Evidence has been collected. Cement blocks have been found in the bilge of the boat. Some bags, passports and mobile phones were also found inside the boat.”

Let's see.  And old truck engine for a motor, and cement blocks for ballast.  Gee, what could possibly go wrong. lol 

The results of the investigation conducted by these "highly qualified experts" will definitely be interesting.

Just mention more, open hedges, to many and to big windows, using the wrong glass. Ballast is needed in a ship, but cement blocks? Mostly they use water tanks.

Hopefully they use some marine surveyors and not just Sgt Somchai.

Are you suggesting Sgt. Somchai is not qualified for the job?

They have defamation laws here you know!

Jeez,looks like the bathroom of a local hotel where i live.

A quick power wash, repair the top structure, find some more cement blocks and a second hand motor. Rename and she will be good to go by Christmas.

On a post yesterday they said 100 Thai & Chinese experts...god help us.

Gen Surachate also noted that Seacrest Marine is to be paid B35 million for recovering the wreck.

They need a team of qualified marine architects to measure up this vessel to find out how it would react to conditions amount and location of escape routes crew training and experience to get to the cause but most of all the Thais need to have the courage to implement the changes nessary so it doesent happen again again my deepest condolences to all affected by this accident 

Where is all this heading, a just conclusion or just someone's big payday?

It's been a long seven days!
