Jeez.

Even "wow".

10 times more than what i pay...........

Brands wise - whatever is available - pretty much all of a muchness.

Quite like the Veloil in a green bottle - smells nice, like chewing gum.

Quite like the Shell - comes in a metal container i can re-use for other stuff.

How about that for tech analysis?

Buy full Syn. Much less smoke. Much greater protection.

Hard nowadays to read plugs with the demise of lead. Buy an illuminated magnifier and read the ceramic deep in the plug body. There you will find the first signs of piston crown deposits from temps going above the melting point of aluminum.

A temp gauge like snowmobiles used to use is also handy, but tuning expertise very welcome.

TG: past 2 years been using the Shell in the black metal can,

then various brand x

at B100+/l.

In the RX-Z.

'Merca can access ester based Amsoil and mix it 100:1.

papa's main thing is to minimise exhaust spoogement.

Cleaning that out of the exhaust system is very ...

not easy.

papa does not want to deal with it.

...not fond of smoke either.

Recently bought a liter of Motul 521 a B450/l.

[unclear what the base oil type is; manufactures are secretive as to that]

[papa's guess is Type 3 and ester combo]

Mixing at 50:1

Will prolly go to ~75:1

Have seen some ester based stuff here at B1200-1500;

yikes.

My older brother used to run Golden Specto oil in his Yamaha 250 MX bike back in the day.  My younger brother used castor based oil in his Montesa 125.  It smelled good.  Might have been Blendzall.
