Muang police in Surat Thani have served an arrest warrant on a 35 year old monk at the temple of Wat Dang Nai.

Phra Mongkhon faces charges of molesting boys under the ages of 13 and 15.

The arrest of the monk came after a complaint made by a parent to police in April who said her 13 year old son was molested by Mongkhon after ordaining for a period during the hot season.

The parent said her son was groped and kissed and had his genitals fondled by the monk.

Mongkhon denies this.

The case has taken time as police have been gathering evidence against the monk, reported Sanook.

He has been defrocked and now faces prosecution.

Should have chosen to be a catholic priest instead, then he would have got away with it.

Not quite, he would have had to say a few Hail Mary's, then absolved from all his sins, and free to repeat offend.

Worked well enough in the Uk Catholic schools.
