Featured Replies

50 years ago he was found dead at the bottom of his own swimming pool. It was only a few days later that Jagger read out a Shelley poem in remembrance of him at the free concert in Hyde Park. And so Mick Taylor began his tenure with the band.

Corrina, Corrina.  She must have been a hellavua fine gal for so many guys to sing about her.

Bob Dylan off his '63 The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan LP.

my eldest niece is named Corinna (one r, 2 ns please) after the Dylan song...

when I named my boy Louie my sister asked what'd you name him that for? and I said that I wanted to name him after a song...

my response made her annoyed...older brothers always do a good job of tormenting younger sisters...

I love the version by John Kray

Very nice version, bannork.  Haven't heard that one before.

A while back I posted a number of anti-war songs.  I had missed a great one.  Dylan's Master Of War off of his '63 The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan LP.

It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding) off of his '65 Bringing It All Back Home LP.

A very excellent cover of Dylan's 115th Dream from his '65 Bringing It All Back Home LP.  Don't know who the artist is or when it was recorded.  The Popeye vid is a bonus.

The Righteous Brothers.. loving feeling..

Sha na na:  any song..

All Along The Watchtower off of the '67 John Wesley Harding LP.

Lay Lady Lay off of the '69 Nashville Skyline LP.  Added bonus:  time period pics of sexy western white woman.

Early Mornin' Rain off of the '70 Self Portrait double LP.  Bonus for tutsi:  Spanish subtitles.

Billy 1 off of the '73 Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid LP, which was actually a soundtrack to the Sam Peckinpah film of same name.

Ever hear of Wolfgang's Vault tutsi?  Back in '02 a guy purchased a warehouse full of Bill Graham's memorabilia, including concert tapes from the Fillmore venues.  I remember listening to many of these concerts (not sure how many were never released prior to this) streamed on the Internet back around '06.  They would put a playlist together and you could tune in.  It was great.  I had forgotten all about it in the ensuing years.

Check it out . . . now just called Wolfgang's.  I just did and they have quite a few concert listings.  I'll have to spend some time there.

Used to be free but now $39 per year to listen to the concerts they have.  Phfftt!  I dunno . . . have to check into it more.  There's a download section but I'll be dam_ned sure it ain't free.

I'd forgotten about this site.  Thanks  for jogging the memory.  I can't blame an owner for making it a pay site but I'm afraid I probably won't become a paying customer as long as YouTube  satisfies my musical  hunger.   I never even  drive out the parking garage without having tunes playing from YouTube on the speakers.

Precious Angel off of the '79 Slow Train Coming LP.  And this train ends.  Somebody blew up the tracks leading into the 80's.

We never got to see the end of that Popeye vid . . . and I can't leave everyone hangin' as to Popeye's fate . . . (some might argue the appropriateness of posting this but technically it's a cartoon musical . . . very fine performances of Bluto & Popeye singing).

Something about that tune sounds sooo familiar.  As if someone else had covered it.  Well, it's not a cover.  I think this is about right.

Here's an exceptional songwriter and artist who surprisingly doesn't get much air time here.  Jamaica Say You Will, the title track from Jackson Browne's '72 debut Saturate Before Using.  Saw him back in 1980.

Long May You Run, Neil & Steven Stills, from '76 and featured on Neil's '77 Decade triple LP.
