Thai Baht Exchange Rate So Low How Are You Dealing With It?
Yes, it's not a pleasant situation. I exchanged dollars for Baht a few times-over the last year or so and built up a bit of Baht reserves. Most of the exchanges were done in the 35-37 range. But I've stopped exchanging for now and probably won't do anymore until perhaps the Baht loses some strength again and hopefully gets back to around 34.5 to the dollar. This could happen once the BOT starts cutting Thai interest rates. For the moment the dollar could continue to weaken though. In just 4 months, since May 1, the Baht has gone from 37 to only 33 to the dollar. So the dollar has lost 10% against the Baht so far. But I do think it should hold somewhere now around 33. My prediction during this past summer was that it would fall to 33 by the end of the year, once the Fed started cutting interest rates, but that drop happened quicker than expected. The Baht may swing a bit lower still against the dollar, but eventually get it should get back to around a base of 33 I believe. The BOT should start also cutting rates soon too, maybe within the next 3 months, which will then weaken the Baht again and hopefully push the dollar back up a bit to around 34.5 to the dollar. -

Pickup Truck Carrying Chicken Meat Crashes into Trailer Truck, Driver Killed

Police received a report of a fatal collision on September 20 at approximately 05.15, involving a pickup truck and an 18-wheeler trailer truck on Highway 21, Lopburi-Lom Sak Road. The incident occurred near kilometre marker 36, in the downhill direction towards Saraburi, on a dark stretch near Khwang Hill, Moo 8, Dilang Subdistrict, Phatthana Nikhom District, Lopburi Province. The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Upon receiving the report, Police Lieutenant Thanapol Kaewbriwong of Kok Salung Police Station, along with Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers equipped with extraction tools, rushed to the scene to investigate. The crash occurred on a two-lane road on a hill without streetlights. Authorities found a white Toyota Vigo pickup truck with a cargo box, carrying fresh chicken meat. The truck's front end was severely damaged, and inside, the body of Mr. Jamlong (surname withheld), 33, of Phrommanee Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nakhon Nayok Province, was pinned in the driver's seat. Rescue workers had to use extraction tools to recover the body. About 20 metres away, police discovered the other vehicle involved, a white Isuzu 18-wheeler trailer truck, with a minor rear-end damage. The driver, Mr. Jaroon (surname withheld), 55, of Saraburi, was waiting to give his statement to the police. Mr. Jaroon told police that he regularly drives this route, and before the crash, he was hauling teak bark to Wang Muang District. While slowly climbing a hill in the left lane, he heard a loud crash as the pickup truck behind him slammed into the back of his trailer. He parked his truck on the side of the road and, upon inspecting the scene, saw the front of the pickup completely crushed. He immediately called the police. Initial investigations suggest that the pickup truck was likely transporting fresh chicken from a factory in Muang Khom, Chai Badan District, Lopburi, heading towards Nakhon Nayok. Traveling at high speed, the pickup truck crashed into the slower-moving trailer truck on the dimly lit hill. Mr. Jaroon has been detained for further questioning and legal proceedings. Since joining this forum, I've noticed FOREIGNERS are complainers, they never stop whinging and whining, moaning and complaining, constantly, then they want to change Thailand, make it the same crap hole they left beind. It's stupid and childish. -

Hi there, I've been having problems with my one year unlimited wifi access. I've come across a few which haven't gone the full 12 months. After a period of time I got a message stating my connection is out of money. Any suggestions which is the best wifi that goes the full one year and is unlimited use. Thanks -

Unless the water is refrigerated or the pool is completely sheltered from the sun, it’s just a very hot tub. Zero daytime refreshment-value during Thailand’s hot season. -

Murder of Woman Found Bound in Apartment: Dead at Least 3 Days
Picture courtesy of Khoasod. A 53-year-old woman, identified as Darunee from Samut Sakhon, was discovered murdered in her apartment at a housing complex in Khlong Luang, Pathum Thani. Her hands and feet were bound with black electrical cords, and her neck was tied with a cord. The body was found after neighbours reported a foul odour emanating from her apartment, which was locked. The investigation was led by Pol. Lt. Waranchai Sukying of the Khlong Luang Police Station, who responded to the call at 10:30 on September 20. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the door locked with a padlock on the outside and had to force their way inside. The body was in a state of decomposition, hidden under a blanket, with signs of a struggle throughout the room. Initial inquiries suggest a complex love triangle may be at the heart of the crime. Darunee had reportedly broken up with her ex-husband, who had refused to accept the split and accused her of theft. Investigators also found evidence pointing to tensions between her ex-husband and a new boyfriend. A neighbour , Sorachai, 47, who helped Darunee find her rental unit, revealed that the victim had frequent contact with his mother but had not been heard from in several days. Darunee’s mother had made repeated attempts to contact her daughter from Tuesday evening, receiving no response. On Thursday, the stench from the apartment led to the discovery of Darunee’s body. The body has been sent to Thammasat University Hospital for a detailed autopsy. Pathum Thani police chief Pol. Maj. Gen. Yutthana Jonkhun confirmed that the investigation is focusing on the victim’s personal relationships, specifically involving her ex-husband and new partner. Forensic teams have collected evidence from the scene, while police continue to review security footage from nearby cameras. Police suspect that Darunee’s murder was likely linked to jealousy and emotional conflict. The police stated that some of the reviewed CCTV footage shows Darunee in conversation with a shirtless man wearing long pants at the building’s entrance. The interaction appeared tense, as though they were attempting to resolve a conflict before the murder occurred.
