Bank Account and proof of Visa status
Are you sure it was mandatory to enter the phone number? Maybe. At our local branches of Bangkok Bank and Kasikorn this is not required. BUT: at Kasikorn in Pattaya (Central) you COULD enter your phone number to get an SMS shortly before you are due And the queues was quite long. Just took a seat outside and waited. -

Business As Usual?
I agree - there is a not insubstantial percentage of Thai people who are opposed to “legalization” and it is easy to see why, frankly. Write a law or legislation that is more gray than black/white and, unsurprisingly, a bit of chaos has ensued. I have no idea what the solution is at this point but would guess that whatever sticks, few people on either side will be happy. -
