I got blood tests done recently and my testosterone is low.

I'm trying to find the cheapest and best way of taking it.

I took testocaps for 2 months before I got the tests done and was still low.

I now want to double my dose of testocaps of 6 caps a day.

That works out at 4200bht a month.

I have been trying to find injectable testoserone that I can do myself but

can't get it in Chiang Rai.

I've been to a doctor but he would only give me an injection every month

and it's an overnight trip to the city to go see him.

What should I do.The only options I can think of are going to a big city like Bangkok and

trying to find a pharmacy there to sell me a box of injectables.

I have heard of a doctor in Pattaya who lets people inject themselves but Pattaya is so  far.

I can buy the gel online but I don't know if that's any cheaper than the capsules.

Does any body know how many satchets of gel I would have to use for the equivelent of

12 testocaps per day and how much all that would cost.

I could mix testocaps with the one injection a month from the doctor in Chiang Rai but that still

involve travel.

If any body has a specific pharmacy that they know that sells injectable testoserone that would be great but maybe

they should Private Message  me that one.

Thanks all.......I really need to do something and would really appreciate some advice.

in the past i have bought nebido from so.east pharmacy, sukhumvit soi 15

bangkok.

nebido is expensive, i think i paid 8200baht for one injection, been a couple of years.

Yeah, need to be a little careful I have been told.
Nebido is, I believe, the once a month job, and a little more "involved" to inject because of a greater volume.
As far as I know the gel is currently not available due to some lawsuits. Settlements were announced, but I did not see any info when fresh product might be available.
I last bought some Testocaps on Sukhumvit in Bkk, between Soi 2 and 3, next door to Bullys Pub. The smaller pharmacy down two doors. I thought the price OK, but can't tell you what it was. I only use 2/day.
The bigger spot is where I last bought injectable Testoviron, but they had none last time I asked.
Sounds like a lot. My advice is to consult a clinic if low T is your prime concern.

It's widely available in bkk but you should probably have an endocrinologist figure out exactly how much you need before you start injecting....

10ml bottles of 200mg or 250mg/ml is widely available and 1m ampoules in 20 boxes

i've since heard that some people agree with taking testosterone once a month.

Does it have to be a doctor who specializes in hormones or can my local

GP dob it.

If so then that would save me an overnight trip every month.

There's a lot of men that think testosterone is a cure all for low sex drive or ED.

There are some very negative side effects from long term use including; kidney and prostate damage, blood clots, strokes, balding, breast enlarged breasts etc.  I'd think very carefully about using supplemental testosterone.

Even in the glass ampules ?

Normally Testosterone Enanthate is 250mg/ml.

So 1ml - as in the Amps, contain 250mg.

If the Testosterone was not bonded to the Enanthate, the half-life is around 4 hours.

Nebido, which is Testosterone Undecanoate, has a half-life of 90 days.

You need to see an endocrinologist or urologist specializing in andropause/low T.

Among other things it needs to be determined whether the hypogonadism (low T) is secondary to another medical disorder or primary. Makes a huge difference to the appropriate treatment.

Also need to screen first for prostate cancer if T is to be used. If you have early prostate cancer, testosterone supplementation can cause it to grow much faster.

And there are other complexities as well.

You should be able to find an endocrinologist in Chiang Rai vity.

This is way, way beyond a Thai GP.

Ok,Thanks Sheryl,

I don't mind going to a specialist,I just mind having to go every 3 weeks

because it's always an overnight trip for me.

Maybe he will make it easy on me after a while and let me inject myself at home or have my GP do it.

You do nto have to keep going to the specialist. Once a treatment plan is developed, if it consist of T injections, you can self inject and just come in say 1-2x a year for follow up checks.

The purpose of going to specialist is not for administration of injections but for an evaluation and determination of the best course of treatment.

Testosterone can be bought in a pharmacy without prescription so there is no need for the doctor to "let" you do that. But you do need medical guidance on knowing (1) whether T supplementation is appropriate for you and, if so, (2) type and how much and to help monitor your response over time.

An alternative to injectables is topical gel.  Androgel is available from Southeast Pharmacy in Bangkok. A box of 30/5 gr. foil packets each containing a 50 mg dose costs 2500 baht.

Gel is no substitute for injections

This is my advice and please take it seriously

1) Do not take any form of testosterone before your prostate is checked by a urologist and a PSA blood test is done. You have to be absolutely sure that you are free of prostate cancer before you do anything. Sometimes in elderly men  prostate cancer lies there in a semi-dormant state and is fired up by testosterone with very bad end results

2) your best bet would be to to use Nebido injections. It is an intramuscular injection, usually done at the deltoid muscle area of your upper arm, that you need to do every 3 months. I suggest  that you have that done by your urologist as well, as it is not completely risk free if you  do it on your own (potential complications : muscle hematoma, intravascular injection, nerve injury)

Want to educate myself.
In short: Is a Testosterone-Treatement something like a last resort when Viagra/Cialis will no more produce the desired effects?
I would think that as long as Viagra/Cialis serves the purpose, nobody would have to bother with Testosterone-Treatements.
I must be missing something.

I think you need to google and study some more, and also go to an specialist in TRT. DO not start treating yourselves after reading som forums on internet.

If ur T level is lower then a certain marging only then Doctors will advise TRT.. They will never advise to start with TRT without checking ur T and other hormone levels..

That seems to be the criteria not if viagra works or not.

The reasons for having low testosterone levels are best explained here:

Trt is more like treating the problem and viagra is like treating the symptom (if the problem was hormone related to begin with)

Trt has many benefits that you won't get from viagra so it's worth getting it checked by an endocrinologist if there's a chance it might be that
