A man was kidnapped from a cafe, bundled into a stolen car by masked thugs armed with a machete and hammer in broad daylight in a planned 'gangland' attack.

Scott Jeffries, 32, David Boyd, 34, Ashley Hodson, 34, and Bradley Ward, 22, have been jailed for their part in the incident.

Boyd and Hodson fled to Thailand, where they tried to eat their SIM cards in a desperate bid to destroy evidence. They were caught before being hauled before a judge.

Boggler - read the Manchester news article, then make your snarky comments. Nothing about it whatsoever. Were they being arrested, or is this what Nigels from Manchester put on avocado toast?! Its a flipping mystery. Now get on it Sherlock.

It seems everyday I am reading about dodgy Brits here.

Fat tv stars with their tits out in public, vandals spraying sacred walls in Chiang mai, families brawling in Hua Hin, drivers in speeding mercs mowing down and killing the locals in Phuket, Hua Hin and chiangrai, boiler room scammers in BKK swindling people out of their life savings, stealing from 7 11s in Pattaya, refusing to pay bar bills in Kao san and Pattaya, fake rape claims on the islands, pedos sodomizing children all over the country and counterfeiters passing off fake money to locals.

And these are only the ones that are reported.

I wonder what all this nonsense costs the poor thai taxpayers?

A really nice run down of the modern brits in Thailand. What happened to the colonial stiff upper lips sahib ?

Those are precisely the qualities that enabled a tiny, wind-swept island on the edge of Europe to dominant the world ????

You mean like the Portuguese, French and Spanish and their colonies?

Council housing ... free housing provided by tax-payers to subsidize the criminal class.

And there was I thinking that council house tenants paid rent.  Not sure what a criminal class is? Where does that fit in with the Working Class, Middle Class, Upper Class?

This is Britain today. So by default, some of this trash washes up in Thailand.

How dare you talk about the British ex-pats like that! ????

But seriously Thailand is a destination of choice for a lot of criminals on the run from anywhere.  The corrupt system serves them well and as we know just about everything is available if you have the money to buy it.
