Thai gf or just some hooker he was with?
What colour was the tourist?

Malik Djamel is the name reported in The Nation. Thai girlfriend apparently. All started in Soi 11.

Watching the news before, Thai man shot dead in France... next item, French man shot dead in Thailand.

His Thai girlfriend, identified only as Kwanjira, told police that Djamel had quarrelled with a Thai man at the Lucky Shot bar on Sukhumvit Soi 11/1. The two men began fighting, but the Thai retreated.

Kwanjira said she and Djamel were returning to their room on the eighth floor of the Trendy Building when the Thai reappeared and shot her boyfriend dead.

You mean like American cops?

So incidents like this are a regular occurrence in the states? They sure as hell aren't in Europe, let me assure you. They are, however, becoming more regular here it seems. Kburi, Pai, CM, Pattaya and BKK have had a series of similar cases where the man-child in brown got his arse handed to him by a 'farang' couldn't take the loss of face/damage to his inflated ego, and so attacked and murdered the victim in cold blood. These are just the ones that were reported on / came to light too. Totally spineless actions and what makes them all the worse is that they've been perpetrated by off or on duty policemen. As I said, they're a cartel / boys club comprised of big kids with far too much authority / responsibility. More so than in most developed/developing nations. Most ordinary Thais despise them too, and for good reason. So why anyone would defend / act as an apologist for them is beyond me. The majority wouldn't get a mop-job in many countries.

Unbelievable racist post. I hope you don't have ant Thai relative with this disgusting attitude. Why on earth are you here, to take advantage of the stupid locals?

Not racist in the slightest. Just a very accurate observation.

NO, not French.
Of Arab origin and French nationality. Not the same thing.
Each turn.
In France an Arab murdered several people at a Christmas market, including a Thai,
in Thailand, a Thai kills an Arab.

You are showing your ignorance if you think that post was not racist.

by the way, we never call ourselves, "khun", it is a term of respect used by others :cheesy:

As has been pointed out, this isn't the first time this has happened. Such easily offended people with fragile childish egos shouldn't be issued with firearms. A lightweight plastic baton should be all that they are allowed to carry.

Thai police are just the average Thai male in a brown uniform.

True. Very scary indeed.

Everyone needs to take note of whats being reported here:

the cop (assume off duty) borrowed the WAITERS GUN and went on foot to the p[ersons residence (trendy)

What does this mean?

1. waiters have guns behind the bar(and goodness knows what else)

2. they will lend them to other Thais

3. it doesnt matter what time of day or whos watching

4. they will share info such as where does this person live

5. 50 cctv cameras would have captured this...how many do you think are being deleted as we speak

6. agree with posts that it seems to be getting worse...not sure why

Yes it does, if people are asking why did the tourist do something stupid like get into a fight with a cop?

The report states that the tourist had a fight with a Thai man.

Policeman was probably not in uniform

what did the Thai gf said? what was the cause of fight/argue with the cop?

None of us were there, to my knowledge.

It is shocking  but i do not know what specifically for the reason to be shocked. I have been friendly to police. I do not argue with them. They have guns and can be under a lot of stress.

and there you have it ............

A friend of the victim said he had gotten into an altercation with Kantapong at a nearby bar. She said Kantapong was upset that he lost the fight and followed the victim back to the building and shot him in front of a Dunkin’ Donuts shop.

Speaking to reporters, Maj. Gen. Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn said Kantapong had confessed to shooting the man out of jealousy over a woman. He also said the officer was convicted on a weapons-related charge for shooting someone six years ago. He did not say why the officer was still on the force.

one would think fellow police owuld not want a loose cannon working with them as he might shoot one of them.

If the tourist had to be shout to stop him. Why have to do it at his head?

What about the leg?

That will had stop him...

They can suck it up as far as I am concerned. They chose to put on that badge and extort citizens day in day out.  Stress or no stress, killing an unarmed civilian is bang out of order.

So he wasn't alive before he was shot?

They aren't, they have to buy the guns themselves.

Apart form the craziness of the whole thing this statement "Immigration Bureau chief Pol Lt Gen Surachate Hakpal instructed investigators at the Lumpini station to handle the case in strict accordance with the law and not try to assist their colleague." just shows Thai society IMHO. I mean what type of person would try to help a colleague that just shot somebody in the head and killed them!!!
