About Northern ireland

Recommended Posts

Being  Australian i don’t understand everything about Northern Ireland, i know my ancestors were from them about 4 generations ago, i am no religion even though my Dad and Grandfather both born in Australia were Catholic but never took it seriously.

Now i would love to go there one day but always end up in Thailand.

For anyone living in Northern ireland or come from there i have some questions,

these may seem like silly questions but me and my workmates were talking about it

if yiu say are a Catholic or protestant , can yiu work with each other ?

just say im a Catholic and you are a protestant and we work say at a hospital do we still talk to each other ?

also the wall you have dividing the areas, what time do the gates close ?

What about nowadays?

My Grandfather was from County Donegal Ireland and came to Islington London in the 1800's for some reason he wasn't religious but his family were born of the Church of Ireland and they were Protestant members but they did not consider themselves to be Protestant.

What that was all about I'm not sure, history knows,  I never really got to talk to him as he was a nasty bit of work, my Dad told me what little he knew.
