Only option was to buy another ticket, but the original was refunded many months later with some 'surcharges'. I don't think that this is what happened, but what happened was: Until a few years ago when buying a "bahn" ticket online you had to select an "identity card" which you would like to show together with your ticket. The default option was "credit card used to purchase this ticket", but you could also change it to "id card" and some other options. You probably left it at the default option and so they wanted to see your credit card when they checked your ticket ???? Edited January 8, 20197 yr by jackdd

More simple start a gofundme. I am not saying that this is the case here, but if a person deliberately overstays and gets caught, then anyone who contributes to a gofundme, needs their head looked at. Where did anyone read that they are asking for financial help or started a gofundme? Oh wait, people looking for likes?
January 8, 20197 yr The same happened to a friend's cousin a few years ago. A Catholic priest p-aid his overstay fine. Th UK Embassy then arranged his flight home but confiscated his passport until the cost of the flight was refunded This guy is a total ar*e and has been disowned by his family Alan

If flight is within a short time company to the boarding gate and onto flight. If two or three hours held in the five star hotel downstairs then collected and escorted to the gate until boarded.

January 8, 20197 yr The video post inside IDC is unnecessary and unhelpful to the family that is doing the correct thing Surely a moderator can delete it

January 8, 20197 yr 1. Book the ticket yourself. Embassies traditionally pay full fare 2. Fly direct (the guy who robbed the Singapore bank was arrested in transit in London after release from Thailand and sent to Singapore)
January 8, 20197 yr Please follow the information and instructions from the embassy who deal with these situations every day . They are well aware of how things should be done . Do not listen to much of the misleading/ incorrect information being given my many on this forum .
January 8, 20197 yr I imagine the people that are volunteering to bring in supplies are going to get scrutinized a lot more with a surreptitiously recorded (I'm assuming illegal) video of secure areas in the detention center appearing in TV.

As the UK flight will be direct he cannot go anywhere but to the UK. I recall a colleague was deported from Singapore (overstay - always the smart ass 'they can't touch me' etc. attitude. He explained back in OZ: - He as taken on board before normal boarding started (QANTAS), put in a back seat where a curtain had been set up isolating his seat and the next to it where the S'pore polie escort sat. - He was handcuffed to the seat, both wrists, he peed in a bottle as needed, he fed himself awkwardly, handcuffs never released. - A/c arrived in Sydney, all other passengers got off, then 2 OZ federal policemen came on board, one handcuff was released but re-handcuffed to one of the federal police. Other handcuff released but re-handcuffed to the second OZ federal policeman. - Escorted off the flight into a different area, passport stamped etc, customs check completed. - Into a paddy van with 2 cops still attached to him. - Taken to court facility in Sydney, court was opened and a magistrate looked at the case. Magistrate ordered that he now be released but after a lecture. - In an adjoining room released into the arms of his wife, who quickly took him to the family car and away. - He suffered emotional etc., stress for several years after. His family gave him hell about making the family look silly etc.

You don't go to court in Australia for overstaying a visa In another country. A lot more to this story.
