A mate moving here any day now wants the above. Bit crook with walking difficulties, can pay around 40k a month. Wants cooking facilities. Any help out there, condo preferred.

I think perhaps the OP is Australian, as in that country if one is a bit crook one is sick or has health problems.

 

The OP could have been more clearer had they have perhaps used a more general form of English rather that jargon. (Please note in future cleverman )

As the English would say, he's gammy. I did say ,he's crook, not , he is a crook. A brother in law of mine went to Oz, asked by an Oz , what's he been up to , he said he's been graftin. That in Oz means he's been a crook, sorry, doing illegal stuff.

Please get this post back on topic. The OP is looking for accommodation for a friend. Can anyone help, if not don't reply.

 

Maybe your friend can find a hotel or guest house with a restaurant / bar downstairs. 

 

I am sure he could get a good discount by paying 3 months in advance.  This way, he doesn't have to cook for himself, and is close to the action.
