Has anybody got any recommendations of the best places in either central Bangkok or Pattaya to buy extra's for my new PCX ?

Maybe take a ride to Rayong. There are a few places on the main street.

 

OR stop at your local mocy taxi stand and ask.

If you can wait 2 or 3 weeks you can order the same parts for a third of the price on for example https://www.aliexpress.com/
