A dog has been rescued after falling into a 10 metre deep well behind a temple in Thalang.

Rescue workers were called about the incident at 4pm yesterday that happened behind Tharua Temple in Thalang.

They found a 10 metre deep well and a dog who’s stuck at the bottom of the well. Rescue workers abseiled into the well and brought the dog up. It took about 20 minutes to retrieve the dog.

Was it a stray?

I would assume.  Nothing mentioned about an owner.  So, now it will wander around and die from hunger.  I wonder how the Thai wander around starving animals oblivious to their condition?  Pity

Presumably no cover on the well. So lucky it was only a dog and not a child playing.

What's the bet the well will still be left uncovered for another animal or child to fall into. The term "preventative measures" seems to be totally unknown in Thailand.

Why would they cover the well This is Thailand no need Someone already told the LOCALs where it is

Seems there are a lot of children, and animals falling in the uncovered wells. Is it so hard to cover a well?

Well done. At least there is some humanity & compassion to save the dog. I'm sure many TV posters would have ignored its cries for help.

It was "behind" a temple.

Most temples host dogs and they will survive quite well.

Irresponsible owners dumping them there (after lost interest on "new childs toy").

At the temple closest to us are about 10 dogs.

Always big excitement when I walk my dog through the temple area.

But none overly aggressive.
