Thai Study

Featured Replies

My friend and her co workers are making a study trip to Thailand and have asked me the following questions :D

  • Are there any kind of unemployment insurance in Thailand and if so who and how can they get it and how much does it cost. ?

  • Are there any kind of paid or unpaid maternity leave in Thailand ?

If YES does it apply to all women ( city and countryside ) working and none working ?

  • Does Thailand have daycare – kindergarten – infant care facilities etc.

If so are they public or private or both ?

4. Is there any kind of old-age or disability pension in Thailand ?

If no what do old people or disabled people do when they can no longer work

because of old age or sickness ?

Thanks to all who wants to help me with this………. links to websites are welcome too :o

1. Not that I am aware of. Certainly not government sponsored.

2. All women working are guaranteed 45 days materinity leave from their employer. The Social Security progam has a fund that supports this.

3. Sure, some public, some private.

4. Limited pensions for government workers, and those in the social security program (Very limited). Some companies might have retirement plans for their employees, usually the foreign owned companies.
