Sometimes it is fun to read about serious and not so serious topics in TV.

I remember some details of what people wrote but I almost never remember who wrote it.

I.e. I might have replied to one member in one forum that he has no idea what he is talking about.

And maybe an hour later in another forum I read another comment from the same person but I don't remember that it is the same person. It's just one of those members.

But it seems some members here remember well what others wrote. I see sometime comments in new threads like "with your history so and so that explains this and that".

Do you remember what individual members wrote? How do you remember the person who wrote it?

Often when reading a posted comment, the writing style triggers a thought of who it is. I then look over at the avatar to verify.

Those of a certain age will recall a Brit actor named A.Mullard. Came across a poster with that name a few days back who, as part of his post indicated he was working.

A day or two later same poster indicated he had been stopped from entering Thailand on a tourist visa, no indication in that post he had been caught bang to rights. I remembered the name and 'outed' him.

If not for the name I would have missed the connection.

For those using nics that are rather more easily remembered, particularly given the demographic of TV posters, it might pay to be a bit more careful with their comments!!

A few who have been around a few years and still post regularly, those apportioned publicity POTY, and, then only current regular posters. As far as recalling previous comments - nah live for today life is too short

Yes, there are several members I remember.  Watching members mature and change over the years can be interesting.  Since I am not the type who needs questions answered, it is the personalities and lifestyles of posters which I find of interest.

Like any community, if you spend enough time in it you start to remember personalities, attitudes, likes dislikes, common phrases, avatars and so on.

Failing that, just go look at the post history......????

Correct i remember what people wrote most of the time. The users that post a lot that is.

Otherwise yes post history helps.

I remember some of the more prolific posters... not quite what they wrote, but those who tend to have a similar and positive attitude, those who can handle intelligent debate and differences without allowing the thread to slide into dissaray and keyboard threats.

I also remember those who post extreme and highly negative opinions, those who damage threads and interesting debates. These posters often disappear, in most cases I imagine through an outright ban.

So, I think I remember personalities in combination with the handle / image of said person rather than the details of what they have written in any specific thread - which to me at least makes sense because it is these posters I remember who post quite a lot.

Only for posters that distinguish themselves - sadly most of the posters I remember have moved on....

I don't so much remember their posts, as recognise them for who they are

"He's a recovering alcoholic..."

"He's a fellow heathen Scotch git..."

"He runs a pub..."

"He cycles in Chiang Mai..."

Moved on or passed on?

Stamford Bridge!

Where Harald Hardrada found 6 feet of earth and enough space to bury him in.

The last hurrah of the Saxons..

Getting back on topic..I am amused at the utterly bizarre "cone of silence" when TVF posters demand that anyone who leaves Thailand has, seemingly, signed some form of secret agreement never to disclose what they experienced there.

It works just about as well as it did in Maxwell Smart.

There are some posters, who, for whatever reason, have left Thailand and moved to different pastures.

A certain few, spend a lot of time on here, and all they post is negativity about Thailand, trying to convince people (mainly themselves), that they made the right decision to leave.

Thailand has given me many great years of my life, and continues to do so, and, if the time came where I had to leave, for whatever reason, I would not bother coming on here to write negativity about a place that I have enjoyed for so long. I would rather put all my energy into trying to enjoy my new destination.

You can take the man out of Thailand, but you can't seem to take Thaivisa out of the man !

Reminds me of the cone of silence in Maxwell Smart.

Ssshh..don't,oh please don;t,be honest about what you found there..and besides, the bloody thing doesn't work anyway.

Anyone who leaves the country is banned from talking about their experiences,eh?
