This being the hub of both corruption and crazy rumours, there is no way to know.

I have just returned from deepest issarn people coming from all over. three days of celebrations and get togethers and a party, everyone from kids to granny's already determined to vote for their future. it would of been a waste of time sending anyone anywhere near there ,from what every one was saying, even the odd farang had no good  words for the military.

5555555 and still PT wins the election if the exit poll is to be believed. The democrats lost votes to the Junta party. If this is close to the eventual result, it can only be seen as a huge loss of face for Prayuth.

Not really a surpise of course...

Edit to add: according to the nation, those 173 seats are all constiuency seats, and the party would have grabbed 0 party list seats, that cannot be possible. It is save to say, that result will go north of 200 seats. (providing the counting is going to be fair)...

Als a huge loss of face to all the people here who predicted a landslide victory for PTP. If i calculate it its only 34,6% of the votes far less then in previous election. Seems like that they lost quite a few votes too.

Democrats lost a lot too.

Will be hard making a coalition that is for sure.

I find it hard to believe that Future Forward scored so relatively poorly. Most young people I speak to (first-time voters) are quite keen on Thanathorn.

As I have said throughout, there is no reason to believe anything official, elitist bodies and media tell us in Thailand - and every reason NOT to believe them ...

Coalition will be easy..

The 250 prayuth appointed senators will vote for him and there ya go.. Result was never in doubt.

After so many years under the army even with the resentment building up (according to members here) they still preformed worse then before. 48% OF votes to now under 35% of votes. Quite a drop.

You believe the count is accurate?

Not sure about that, I do know that whatever immigration does to foreigners, is not relevant to what the junta is doing to Thai citizens.

It was more of an allusion to your inference of the Senate being able to send the government home... oh, never mind.

I don't believe in large scale fraud, sorry i left my tinfoil hat at home. Large scale fraud is too hard to pull off and keep hidden.

I am not sure about this count of course because its not yet final, but I do believe that this will be close to the actual outcome.

"Jaunta"? Yes - it has been a bit of a "jaunt" for some!

Just did a refresh on the EC's exit poll website after my pad krapow dinner and PTP just lost a seat while the PPP gained a couple.

Then did a refresh about 10 minutes later and PTP got their lost one back but PPP are down 6.

Think I'll wait until May...

Look at you getting all tumescent at the thought of continued junta rule.

You seem to have forgotten that Pheu Thai are only running candidates in 250 of the 350 constituencies (to combat the rigged / gerrymandered system created by the your junta).

So, despite running 100 fewer candidates, Pheu Thai are still number one - I'd say that gives a pretty fair indication of what Thais are "finally seeing".

As for the praise you are giving the military for coming in second - it is misplaced.

The Democrat Party has crashed.

Good old Mister Integrity himself Abhisit's political career has only one avenue to left - join a Pheu Thai coalition or he is finished (as Suthep already is).

Prayuth may still be the PM after the election, but he has well and truly lost and will not be around in 18 months time.

Guess it's about time for you to start worshipping Gen. Apirat.

You are truly crazy if you read in my post that i like the junta being second. First thing I say is that I am not happy with junta winning. You should REALLY read better. I thought it was clear what i posted.

Yes i like that Thais are waking up and not voting Thaksin, they did a lot worse then in 2011. So you can say what you want far less people voted for them then ever before. yes I think that is a good thing.

Its so hard for you to get in that brain of yours that I dislike the PTP and junta.

I am pro future forward.. anti Thaksin and anti junta.

I would think that would have to be Future Forward - under Thanathorn. He is a true internationalist and progressive.

So what do you reckon he'll do with all these broke, foreign pensioners then?

I think a Thanathorn-led Government would show a lot more humanity, respect and compassion towards foreigners living in Thailand - as well, of course, as to Thais in general. I could well imagine Thanathorn scrapping the disgraceful 90-day Reporting (which treats us all like criminals who need to be constantly watched and monitored) ...

222 (173 + 49) seats looks like a victory to me.

(Pheu Thai and Future Forward are both Thaksin)
