You're comparing apple to oranges.

Future Forward are pro-democracy whilst the Democrats are clearly not (and never have been).

The only place for democracy supporters is in a coalition opposed to the current regime not sitting on a fence.

That said, not joining any coalition is probably the Democrats only realistic chance of survival, but even this most likely won't work - too many skeletons in the closet, too many boycotts, too many dead bodies.

Looking into the crystal ball, it's very, very hard to see how the Future Forward vote is not going to keep growing and growing in and around the Bangkok constituencies - all at the expense of the Democrats and Palang Parachart.

The next election late this year, early next year is going to be interesting - particularly the relationship between Pheu Thai and Future Forward as they become the 2 largest parties.

You make a good point but the Future Forward party has expressed valid concerns that by joining any other party in opposition to the junta may taint not only their membership but the opinions of voters in future elections hampering their ability to be elected to a position to help move the country forward (no pun intended).

  • Yes stay non aligned and be a viable opposition. A decade of snuggling up to the military has only brought your party declining supporters and a poor image.

  • Future Forward should also do the same. Let the majority of the others form a government and the Democrats and Future Forward vote support on sound corruption free policy.

Yes indeed. And looking at the tea leaves its becoming pretty apparent that the junta are aware of this new threat and will use every dirty trick in the book to get FF dissolved.

It will take more Than a thorn to burst their bubble. There is no way they will quietly bow out and let a Phua Thai coalition form a government. They have gone too far now to back down. And in the unlikely event a democratic front did form a government it would get no peace and another coup will follow.

The democrats will just sit on their hands until the dust settles.

I do have a strong feeling that either way, we will soon be seeing big street protests again.

One minute you can be on facebook live the next you can be fitted up for a sedition suit????
