Ahhh what do i think....your god dam bathroom is hugh....3m by 5m what you going to do in there?, pissie little front window looks like a  cuban hole in the wall thats a shop...At first glance it looks good expect for the window.

 

Ok since i once concidered living there and possibly building i did learn a lot. verhanda all the way around to cover walls was a very good idea or at least on the side the sun would be on..which could be 2 or 3 sides....verhanda should shade the the concert porch too as heat builds up and radiates especially at night, your slab is a heater.....i would have had vents above all windows possibly specialy built like a window flywired and louvers or something to close off so mrs during the Thai winter could feel comfortable, big windows since there all shaded anyway, better for air circulation, high ceiling with openable vents, you see in Thailand if you can get a draft going your keeping the place cooler, thats the basics.....if no termite probelms i wouldnt have a slap on ground timber stays cool.

 

Id start planting tress along the sides the sun hits even consider a trellis sort of thing with vines spaced say 900 off the wall the sun hits up to eve height to to get heat off the walls...planting will soften it all up...but please concider a bigger window fj...

 

700,000 is like 30,000$ imagine what you could have built with 50,000$, mate here these days nothing is under 200 sq meters and 300,000$....the guy i contract to his renovations with small extensions are around $400,000, we did a 1.5 m in phosh Brighton a few years ago and right now same sort of thing in Essendon the owner brought the place for 1.4m and will be spending the same for extension and reno...so concider your self lucky....hehe but i do normaly work on better heeled properties...though id never wanna go to the Toorak or Sth Yarra to dam fussy and yes in earlier incarnations i have done the odd job in those places..

Thanks for the advice,yes the size of doors and windows was a huge sticking point.

The other half wanted Huge ones more as a fashion statement.

Myself wanted small ones taking into account weather conditions here(storms up to 80-100kph winds not often but at least 2-3 times a year) with the flat roof.

There is vents in the ceiling and it faces east west so only sun is in the morning.

I will look at possibly a bigger window at the front if it causes friction down the track.

Trees,i'm not into trees had them all ripped out around other house.Too many snakes like to sun bake in them. At the end of the day i'm a practical man,fashion comes and goes and there's no resale valve added here.

I will still be outside in the 85sqm under cover area watching the footy. next door.

In entertianment news the Spice girls tour starts with a crap PA system in Dublin....It continued on in Wales the next night....fans were leaving early...2 years in the gym and the 5 hours in the make up room before eash show couldnt salvage it, ahhhhhh such a shame....Posh (Vickie) was smarter than the average bear....i once went to a show here in Melbourne....over in the factory area of Kensington a new yuppie burb of the modern era...2013 it was...the hottest band from Cuba had been booked to play in a refurbished warehouse that now was a night club, Havana de Primavera, now these guys are use to much better, the place looked great parking was fairly east, my current TGF of that time had not long arrived she was a brooding accountant ever so serious as you know...they are......old Castro was an intelligent man education was important most Cubans are well educated even there rock stars, anyway wasnt hard to see the band were as peed off as me to the sound quality in this place which made me think of the night clubbers that came here and how tone deaf they must be, Kiki my accountants nick name stood emotionless for most of the evening, only thing moving where her eyes .....A lot of the Latin crowed where there people id known a long time....kiki was of some intrest to some of the women there...with glances towards her....on the sly of course and not to notice but of course it was easy to notice....one particular ex date had her head at 45 degrees from kiki's direction with both eyes peering through her...ahhh you have to love aussie women.....tallish and dark and not moving to the music i guess she stood out...as well as the fact we were almost as close as you can get to the band.....Kiki was a detective...she just had that radar vision....she had the knack to call just when id be visting a female friend...things like that...her ring tone on my phone was the Pink Panther....simply amazing she was....

Hey hey its friday...all day....untill 12 midnight......a slow world in the footy world this week even after the midseason draft which was as exciting as watching the rain fall over the past week here in Melbourne...yes we have decended to winter like condions after a glorious Autum....the grounds WILL be wet and somewhat heavy.

 

Adam Goods doco was screened this week i purposley did not read about it nor WILL i watch it, we are one nation, Italians and Greeks coped it too you dont see them marching to parliment house.....i rest my case....

 

The mantra my phone is a phone and not a cretid card is playing on repeat in the back ground...we WILL not succumb to Apple and Samsung pay and there are a host of identies trying to get into the act as well...the modern 20 somethings with tech jobs like the idea of paying for there coffee in a paper cup on the run by  flashing the iphone or galxay 10s over the emiting light....not me baby and im not a dinosaur i just choose to draw a line in the sand...for gods sake the tap and go was something i didnt need as well...loose you wallet with key card and Credit card inside its a god dam heaven sent xmas for the kids in your area....they can make multipul purchases up to $99.99 every time.....it normal takes the bank 5 transactions within 4 hrs to realise somethings up...assuming ur not a heavy spender...And its your money ralph...

 

Well out of the Herald New Zealand online news paper, sorry no link as i read from the tablet U2 are starting there stadium concert tour in kiwi land....Joshua Tree tour yes you can be forgiven...its a 30 year old album even im suprise how long its been....they seem to think its relevant never mind, once the biggest band in the world there slipped down the food chain and been rather quite...actualy they been rather quite since they offered one of there new cd's to itunes for free...was an automatic download for who had an iTunes account.....was around 2015/16 i think...well it didnt go down well at all...many Itune customers were not thrilled in getting that cd...even i...and i like U2, to say the band was taken back by the flack of the unwanted cd apperaing in your account would be an understatement....they then realized they were not gods gift to the world and been laying low ever since.... Bono is quoted as saying he is sing these songs better than he was 30 years ago....so there you are...we been getting ripped off for years....anyway you guys WILL be able to see U2 as this tour is Asia only bythe looks.....Singapore...one place mentioned....take the mrs for a shopping holiday mid year is great time for shopping there....sales are incedible...

 

I also have The Journal and Independent app's both Irish news papers its really cool to see whats going on somewhere else....Aljareeda too....spread your horizons fellas....Back to the Herald....Man found electrocuted in Thailand hanging on to his Samsung while charging it, ummm 2 people have died in Thailand charging there phones...moral of the story is...dont buy a used Samsung without the orginal charger....seems they met there  maker by using copy and after market accessory's.......You have been warned....

And in Ireland.....and only in Ireland......there is a picture of an electric generating toilet to a whiskey barrle hot tub....its in your garden of all places...the toilet....that is...its in a cottage garden setting...would look good on your farm Fj, the lid is blue sky type affect.....and sure to keep snakes at bay...This you will find at Ireland's largest gardening festival in Dublin and this is the 13th year....Trust the Irish to not want to waste....and to make do...ahhh this one is called The Gin Garden...the one with the dunnie in it....made from reclaimed and recycled materials the garden aims to replicate elements of the Blackwater Gin Distillery site in Waterford with added water features and lush foliage oh great.....There are 3 areas to this garden, a social entertainment area, a small bar and a secluded hot tub all fired up by the dunnie....the tub is a converted 100 year old whiskey barrel so you will smell like a brewery when you get out, imaging 100 years of whiskey in the pours of your skin, might be years before you can walk straight again...ummm they dont say how the dunnie fires up the tub but who cares if theres a bar in your garden right?

 

What a wonderful exciting world we live in....you shoud try going to a war zone like i did once...was exciting....was at the tail end of the Sri Lankan civil war....3 am on a blacked out road my taxi is stoped by an army check point...the biggest machine gun ive ever seen including in the movies was pointing at my head just 1 meter away....makes you feel kinda warm in your undies....I think i should have been a war correspondent you know...i can just see me running for cover in Bagdad and places like that....

 

Tigers tonight WILL rip the Roos to shreds....Shaw said he isnt changing anything so that means another loss to the Roos....

 

Dee's and Crows...we do ok with them and in Melb too.....all comes down to Tex...WILL he have a good one or not? Never under-estimate the resourceful Dublin folk, if it has anything to do with alcohol.    Ireland would have been at the leading edge of world manufacturing for centuries.....had they not invented whiskey first.  555

 

You would never see Zac 2E or Jimmy Stynes pointing the accusing finger of racism at a 14 year old girl in the front row if she called them stupid.   But slag on their girlfriends down at the pub, and you will be invited outside to settle your differences.   That's the way real men handle things.

 

My Dad receives a monthly newsletter from his Retired Employees Association.  In every edition there are one or two Irish jokes.   Fair game, coz the Irish know how to have a laugh at themselves.   

 

Unlike so many other precious snowflakes who belong to special interest and minority groups these days who can't wait to pull out the red card of racism/sexism if someone utters a word about them that they don't appreciate.

On last Sundays Footy Show, they had Mal Brown and Sam Newman on.

 

Mal Brown was talking about Kevin Bartlett and said he was "a Jew, because he never bought anyone a drink in his life".

 

Sam told a joke which was:

A man hears a knock on the door. He opens it to see 2 Police Officers

standing there. One was holding a picture of the guys wife. He said, "sir, is this your wife"? The guy replied "yes". The cop then said, "it seems as if she has been hit by a bus". The guy replied, "yes, but she's a great cook and the kids lover her".

 

Needless to say, an apology was given at the end of the show to "anyone who took offence".

Just wonderful.....excellent.....hack underdogs pull it off...happy for you now the TW WILL get her bigger window and 1000B to go shopping at the local Central....

 

Might be the start of something big....Shaw did look a bit lost last night....camera zooming into coaches box.....he was sitting far right....forgot he gets the centre spot...the look on his face each time camera went in was one of disbelief prob still pinching himself he got the job....most unlike the rest of the Shaw family who seem very sure of themselves....even uncle Tony...been out of footy a long while but the papers still go to him to comment....he is now the Don of footy news...always has a comment ready....imagine Tony might come on down and give a few pointers how to win the ball at the bottom of the pack....and he was a fine mid both inside and out....Ray the dad...had always expected to get the nod for the Pies, he to was a fine player and did his coaching apprenticeship in the old VFA coaching my local burb team first as player coach and later coach of Preston Bullants...Now the Blues affliated team shame about that.....as kids we would kick on down to the the city oval in Cramer street and watch the powerful Port and Willie play the Ants...we were an ok team and even got a Premiers flag under Ray and a runner up as well....Back then the top 3 clubs in the VFA were just as good as the bottom 3 VFL teams....on the tellie every sunday and even invited into the one of many incarnations of the mid season cup...had so many names...when the VFL spat the dummy and droped out so there were the Bullants playing against Norwood and who ever in Perth as well...they were the good old days...real footy.... 

 

 

Alas Ray was over looked at Collingwood and didnt stay to long at Cramer St, not sure what happend to him after that but i do know some local clubs were throwing a lot of money around to get players, my ex brother inlaw you know the guy that wanted to get a brothel....played for VFA Brunswick in his uni student days casue he got paid but never got out of the reserves he soon left to go play for East Brunswick casue they payed more and he got into the ones....

Well WILL how do you explain last night?.......of all teams to loose toooooooo Goodwin was besides himself...they all were in that coaches box....Ross Lyon plz email the Demons to go get goal kicking practice on there own god dam time....

 

1-7 and i think the last shot on goal was 1-8, Crows didnt win we lost it....Kennedy Harris or is it Harris Kennedy....(A number of not recored changes to the team including him) was a dynamo in the first half but then the dreaded foot disease struck in the 3rd and he was the first...3 sloppy kicks in a row into man nearest him or waward pass that went like 15 m to a crow...the sign i thought was on the wall of what was to come....should have been dragged..... by the end of the 3rd i was asking myself why Tom Macdonald handnt been moved on down back...his brother couldnt contain Jerker jenkins i also wondered why since Hibberet was back why Frinch had not moved forward...at least should have swaped with Big Tom....

 

And that Jack Viney...son every one knows when you got the ball your going to do the excat same thing every time....he just wants to take on the pack....time to start being unpredictable, there WILL come a time breaking packs WILL get harder...

 

A win last night and it was possible with a good run on in the second half to slip on in to the 8 by seasons end....now we will be relaying on other teams to drop games....assuming we get that run on which i think is with in us.....but of course we woud be all puffed out by the time the finals start....playing elemiation finals every week for 10 games in a row does take a toll....recall the Swans?

 

We should be playing for a high draft pick....4th to 6th would be a good consolation prize for underachiving this year...that should satisfy WCE for Yao......

Most unlikely to beat the Pies now after they droped there game to Freo....we would need another seasoned 3 players in at least just to stay level with them....

 

The Weid....was 600,000 his manager wanted....he aint gonna get it, Dee's might get him to sign a incentive loaded contract for 2 ys i recon..but im still in the mind set he is Collingwood bound....his family have a big history there....

 

Think Goodwin has a lot to learn....Tom Macdonald should spend a few games down back...his brother might be ok up forward or on a wing for a while, though jerka was just to god dam big for him Viney needs to find another way about in his game he is too predicate id rather see him a bit more as an outside mid even in the back pocket we really miss Nev.....Gartlet...dont do enough....id cut him seasons end...id also cut Kennedy Harris and the little dart Streach...these players dont get up they play as the team plays...

AFL says error made on crucial Freo goal

The AFL has blamed technical reasons for the controversial score review blunder in Fremantle's four-point win over Collingwood.

Michael Walters' snap at goal was clearly touched by Chris Mayne in the third quarter, but the score reviewer did not have access to that footage.

Instead, the goal was allowed based on footage from the goal line.

Confirmation of Saturday's error will come as cold comfort to the Magpies.

Michael Walters' snap at goal was clearly touched by Chris Mayne in the third quarter, but the score reviewer did not have access to that footage.

There was another stuff today in the WCE game. AFL will have to pull their finger out and make sure they have all footage available to them. In reality they were too lazy to go back to the initial kick. They have to make a quick decision and they stuffed up.

Radar can celebrate in style......2 hrs ago the chop to the neck by Madam Guillotine and in doing so the president of the CFC and Judd saved there own bacon....Teage something like that WILL take over as interm coach....

 

I strongly recommend Goodwin to takeover at the BLUES.....and im happy to lobby for the return of Paul Roos...he knew a thing or two about player placement....

 

I wasnt joking when i first mentioned Voss....his name has started to get thrown around over the weekend...Ratten has also put his hands up ..andim pretty sure bothe those guys could should or WILL land a head job soon....

 

Wouldnt hurt the Blues to go back to Rattern you know...think about  it..

Ratten maybe, still has much support at Princes Park. Sliding doors... will always wonder how things would have turned out if Carlton held their nerve with Ratts instead of going with the Malthouse trainwreck. In retrospect Ratten didn't do too badly, coached four finals.

 

Roos... would cost a million or two but would he really be interested or doing it just for the money? Maybe a consulting role would work better.

Brad Scott... maybe but depends if you thought he was any good at North... I'd pass.

Voss... nope.

Bring back Fev (really) to teach the forwards how to lead because despite having talent like Curnow and McKay, right now they don't present too often.

 

Greg Williams is working with Paddy Dow... but Dow is kicking worse by the week. Maybe a confidence thing because he had a rep as a good kick in junior footy.

 

Get Craig Bradley or some other ex player who can kick to a target to show them how it's done, as just about the whole team keep turning the ball over again and again when they go forward. For AFL players their kicking skills are woeful. Went with some friends to the GWS game in Melbourne late last year and it was like GWS versus a local park team. They turned it over even when kicking to a teammate twenty mts in the clear. Yes there are a lot of young players but they can get the ball, but when they do they are slow in their decision making which puts pressure on their next kick which then keeps getting picked off by opposition defenders.

Back in the VFL days clubs like Carlton Collingwood and Essendon and later North played check book football, purging the western borders of our far land in search of talent, attracting the best, at one time North 2cds alone could have played finals in the firsts....the Ron Barassi era, Essendon was the only club that was able to just move away from check book football into the age of salary cap with ease the others took some time to adjust particulay Collingwood...and of course Carlton..well Carlton have never been able to adjust.
