Your typical winters day in Melbourne today...rain wind and shit looking skies...The Dee's will be on holiday mode up near the gold coast today and im pretty sure they wont be in a hurry to come on home....

 

We have come along way from the mud infested Moorabbin ground....did you know they have an airport there too? they doooo.....Saints were known for leaving sprinklers on after training from thursday night untill sat morining...Saints wernt that good a team back then bottom 2 forever...the sprinklers were designed to slow the other team down....didnt help much did it Chooks?

 

The sprinklers came on once in the 3rd quarter during a Hawks game out at Artic Park then it was there prized home ground once the AFL realized most supporters hated that ground...and wouldnt go there.....(couldnt sell the ground so they gave it to the Hawks) think they were playing the Bombers who got pissed off as it stopped play and there run on for a Hawk comeback and win...(eventualy carved up the car park for housing tore down the crap stands and WILL is ur uncle) and its still in the middle of nowhere....use to take me a full on hour to drive there and half way was a freeway before it was extended and tolled....another blight on the landscape...mind you i lived a mere 5 min sprint in my 1969 Mini Cooper S from the city...and this is the 80's...we got an extra 2 million refugges living here now....try getting there today in an hour....

Wayne Rooney former Man Untied ace and now playing in the USA whos romps with prostitutes keep coming back to haunt him with a kiss and tell book by one of his ummm female friends....who was pictured recently living it up on a beach somewhere...well..i wouldnt pay to screw her....not good taste has Wayne....though his mrs is a bit of all right....judge the man by the company he keeps...mixed bag here....the ummm friend has a nice set of 38 inch at least and thats about it....anyway said ace Rooney was actualy lucky to get the ball...no effort was done be he indeed....typical forward who dont defend in the back third ...mistake by defender GIFTED the ball to Wayne...who said thanks and took off, like this guy is still a class act....around the middle of the ground between wing and centre and broken free from all defenders ....Wayne sees goalie on egde of outer box and shoots it over his head into the back of the net....

Ah those were the days at morrabbin.  Loved the 80's didn't get to see much football as I was in the Army in Townsville.  Had to get family to tape games and send them up.  No internet or streaming.  Played twice a week back then, Wednesday for the army and in the local comp on Saturday.  No sprinklers the grounds were like concrete.

I must say Collingwood were off tonight against us.

We kicked points, had plays where 4 or 5 handballs hit the ground and missed targets with kicks.

Can't complain about the pressure on their ball carriers though,superb.

A completely different looking team even from the GWS game where we fell away after half time.

Sneaky chance to keep the season alive to the business end.

Just lucky thats all.....Pies have fallen off a cliff form wise...written in the stars last week....its sim sala magic trick and Buckleys boys will be cruisn again in not time....

 

Also makes a mockery of how players who are on big bucks just drop off......seeing it at Hawthorn but hey thats a differant senerio.....This is why i like the NFL.....you got 15 seconds to perform....one play....two plays....three plays then your out on your ass....

One thing about Melbourne is you can rely on them not to deliver when its needed....so there is no pressure on them today hahaha.....casue there season has been blown up by a IS terroist truck called injuries or so thats the excuse there using...

 

But its just past the half way mark of the season so a lot of these guys coming off short preseason should now be finding there feet...unless we were never as good as everyone thought we were its time to rock some boats and shape the 8....other wise we will have to call up Paul Roos for another spell.....

Well here we are...Oz would be shattered as i am....easy beat Dee's pooie......Goodwin should be god dam nervous.....and should count himself lucky that the Buddha smiled on him and helped sercure a new deal before the season started casue if i was still paying for a membership id want him gone....

 

1 win and % off the bottom with the hardest draw of Suns Blues ....very easily could get the coverted wooden spoon...Mind you my team is not know for getting them selves out of a jam perineal poo they are.....

 

After being wrapped up by the media preseason we have shown nooooooooothing..........its back to the drawing board and the draft...and hopfuly a new coach for 2021....

 

But we have......Iphone....yes new iphones just months away again....to take my feeble mind of this sorry bunch of 22 plus coach....there predicting thripple cameras....wow.....and a few other things...but we know the upgrade is well hardly an upgrade every second year, cameras always are spurced up in the S model...extra colors for the XR....and did you know less than 3 months into the new iphone cycle even after a great review they were trashing the XR....well its come out, the XR is the top selling phone of the lot...at $600 less and LCD screen instead of Oled plus a slightly lesser camera it isnt any wonder is it? i mean $AU2200 for the Max is a kinda joke....Love my XR its the same size as that awful Samsung J7 Prime i got conned into buying by a previous illustrious member here....who still has his....Pulled it out of the draw last week to set up as im off to the Phillipines for a change for 2 weeks in a month....the XR WILL be hidden away from prioing eyes so if i get stuck up god forgive they can have that bit of trash .....

Good news...email this morning from NFL is 31 days away..4 preseason games...starts august thank god i have something to look forward too....go Browns Bills and 5 others....they were nice enough to let me know......that this year they will deduct my 300 bucks in 4 instalments instead of 3 like last year.....ahhh...great servie, never got an email from the AFL when i was streaming to a microscope before kayo, actualy had several from the NFL.....have to say they keep you informed without bombing your in box like Woolworths do...was driving me nuts..had to unsubscribe you would have thought after doing several surveys for wollies with me mentioning the over use of emailing they would have got the hint....they did not.....

https://www.thejournal.ie/cinema-trailers-ireland-50-4710800-Jul2019/ Check out what's on in Ireland this weekend....I WILL pass...not into moves about gays or Leso's, Spiderman far from home....mate the first Star Wars is were I stopped.....and the other....Midsommar....think you have to be British to get it.....me....I joined Stan this week...just long enough to see Catch 22 loved the movie...seen it 3 times.......Alan Arkin is my man....Jack Nicolson toooo...now you know my humour....rather black and sarcastic.....My kids took forever to understand me, goes right over Thai womens heads too...fortunately for me...I can't stop.....I still have little digs here and there....Well im expecting George Clooney to do a dam good job on this....If you wanna see a good movie I strongly recomend a French one called Delicatessen, its around seen 3 times too...very dark hehehehe, and funny but you never laugh.... The story line? hahaha im not sure as your not told, it starts like in a permanent cloud of fog or pollution who knows....there is a shortage of red meat.....the local butcher and landlord has a butcher shop he is on the ground floor of an apartment block ...lets just say they go through a lot of mantaince guys.....enjoy.... 

 

And in NZ some people have too much money..... https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12246861 and over a fence....awarded costs against just mere 75,000$, some old and obviously well heeled older gentleman got around the building code and had built a 4 meter high fence that was  in name a children's playground but looks like a fence to blockout his above neighbours looking into his back yard....Well his neighbours got really pissed as as it blocked out there sea views.....Now I can say with authority some people do go too far...ive lived in 3 2 story houses and I never caught myself looking into my neighbours back yard...then again none of my neighbours were 22 and pretty and sun bathing in a bikini like when I was a Kid....also.....views? yes id get pissed off if my sea view was taken as well.....but again referring back to my own experience after a few months you don't notice much anymore it all becomes routine if you know what I mean...anyway these two codgers took it to every court in the land and a number of years till eventually the judge said....its an abuse of process....piss off....

 

And in the Match of the round....Dee's and Blues...battle for the wooden spoon....ho how far can you fall? yes we can fall two spots more....Id put my money on the Blues, my sorry bunch have lost the plot....round 16 and there should be some 98 for the turbo but instead there running on E10...sludge....Gawn...no mate Maxie won't play.....with a sick forward line we had all year im still amazed they haven't given the new big man a decent go....pretty sure Brendon is in this week even if big Max does pass a fitness test.....Expect the unexpected cause Dee's good at that....

Carlton vs Melbourne (MCG) Fox 1:10pm

Two sides who have spent the last few decades tormenting their fans on a level that would normally be referred to as bullying.

I’m looking forward to going to this about as much as a serious surgery with no anaesthetic.

The Blues fans started the season with no hope and things got worse from there, until David Teague came along and suddenly the Carlton faithful have hope.

Melbourne fans started the season with hope and then it plummeted away like a plane in a downward tailspin, except there’s no end to it. There’s no sweet ground rising up to take away all this pain.

A loss here and it won’t be the worst humiliation they’ve had in recent years; it will just be another they can add to the very impressive collection they’ve built up.

Either side can lose this, Melbourne should win, but they shouldn’t be 16th on the ladder, so making the impossible come true is sort of their thing, in a negative way.

Carlton wins here and they would need to start seriously considering making Teague their permeant coach. I know he doesn’t bring the big reputation Carlton boards usually go for, but he wins, and I think Blues fans could come to like that.

In this case I think the Dees will win but I’m not confident.
