I have has an O visa based on marriage for 11 years, but it is possible under the new Visa Regs. that I may not get an extension this year. However I have a teaching job, with a contract, teachers licence, current work permit etc. so could I change to a O  B Visa? and what if any is the Minimum salary I have to show

There are no changes to the requirement for an extension of stay based upon marriage. It is still 400k baht in a Thai bank for 2 months or proof of 40k baht income.

You can use your income from teaching if it is 40k or more by showing payment receipts and your tax return filed this year.

You could change to an extension based upon teaching if you wanted to. No need to go out for a non-b visa.
