A fire destroyed eight tourist fishing boats in Satun province early on Saturday, police said.

The fire broke out at the Pak Bara pier and spread quickly from a fishing boat to seven other boats.

The boats were used to take tourists out to fish in the sea.

La-ngu district chief Thani Hayimasa rushed to the scene to direct the firefighting operation but all the eight boats were completely gutted.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.

we have fire that can move across water

does anyone see something very wrong with this news story

I have absolutely no idea what went on or the reason why it has been reported the way it has - but one thing I know for certain - it is complete BS

B """££££ Post had it reported as  the fire being in SATAN ????

Maybe someone had too many chillies for dinner  :whistling:

Fishermen fed up with tourist agencies messing with their traditional means of income perhaps.

Magically  new boats will appear  next week. Fully  compliant  with whatever regulations.

Insurance  has it's benefits. But a  day out fishing   will likely  cost a bit  more  to offset the next round of  cover!
