James Bond producers, Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, last week confirmed that the start of principal photography on the 25th official James Bond would begin April 28.

The new movie from Albert R Broccoli’s Eon Productions and Metro Goldwyn Mayer Studios is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his fifth film as Ian Fleming’s 007.

The announcement took place at GoldenEye in Jamaica, once the home of Ian Fleming where he created the James Bond character in 1952. Fleming wrote 12 novels and two collections of short stories on the island. GoldenEye is owned and operated by Island Outpost, founded byChris Blackwell who formerly owned Island Records.

Metro Goldwyn Mayer will release the 25th James Bond feature film domestically through their United Artists banner on April 8 next year. Those living in the UK and Europe will get to see it a few days earlier, with the release set for April 3. The Thai release is set for April 9.

“Bond 25”, as the film is currently being called, stars Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw and Jeffrey Wright, all of whom will reprise their roles and newcomers Ana de Armas, Dali Benssalah, David Dencik, Lashana Lynch, Billy Magnussen and Rami Malek.

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The 007 production will be based at Pinewood Studios in the UK, and on location in London, Italy, Jamaica and Norway.

Wilson and Broccoli commented, “We’re thrilled to return to Jamaica with ‘Bond 25’, Daniel Craig’s fifth instalment in the 007 series, where Ian Fleming created the iconic James Bond character and ‘Dr No’ and ‘Live And Let Die’ were filmed.”

“Spectre”, the 24th James Bond film, was a global box office hit, earning $880 million. The film broke a new all-time box office record in the UK with the biggest seven-day opening of all time at $63.8 million. Skyfall, the 23rd film in the series, earned $1.1 billion worldwide.

It seems in this PC world sexy women are not allowed anymore - even for James Bond.

The second from the right is not too bad, but the rest...

Yes, 2nd from right is barfine material, the rest stays behind the counter @ Tesco.

For actors of a certain masculine bent, James Bond has long been viewed as a career pinnacle. But in 2015 after four films as 007 Daniel Craig says he has had enough, and would “rather slash my wrists” than reprise the role.

If that wasn’t enough, the 47-year-old admitted that if he did return as Bond it would be just for the money. He took a similarly dismissive opinion on that staple of British conversational life, who should take over in the role: “Look, I don't give a &*ck....  So i propose to call the this move Bond: The one for the money...

They all look like cardboard cut-outs to me. This Daniel Craig geezer is not very tall (Bring back SC).

My second wife was a black African; looks a bit like the girl in all blue (the one on the right for those viewing in black and white).

I miss her.

I hope Ralph Fiennes does a better job on this that he did of The Avengers, in which he looked a right dick with the wrong sized bowler. Interestingly, Connery also acted ( if it can be called that ) in that movie.

I also hope they do better than Skyfall, which in my opinion , for what it's worth, was a pile of <deleted>.

Most people never go to the movies, so when a Bond film comes out they all go, and don't realise that there are loads of far better films being made.

I bought the box set of all the Bond films, and the early ( Connery and Moore ) films were pants. I suppose everything in those days was pretty rough too, but they should have had better production values once the movies started making money.

I guess it was just a different world back then, when the sight of Andress wearing a rather modest bikini drove the fans wild.

Hope you are talking about Craig's right! Actually, I wouldn't say no to the far right either. I think she's Lea Seydoux, a very fine looking woman, DDG actually. Not a very good photo of her in the article.

Indeed, sexy women are not allowed. Just remember the uproar from the demented crowd when Karen Gillam wore a sexy outfit in the Jumanji film.

There was only one James Bond = Sean Connery

Not even in second place! Craig is by far the best.

Which organizations employ you as a film critic?

Tallness isn't one of the measures of acting or secret agent ability. And SC could do neither!

Might I suggest you two devilishly hansum chaps put yourselves forward as lead actors so we may see the countless beauties falling over themselves to play as your leading lady...........

A Thai friend has a male manager who collects gun replicas (ie fake guns) I wonder what's the point, said friend says it's because real guns are prohibited here. That manager is the target audience of Wilson and Broccoli, and this century is still young.
Goodbye, Mr Bond. My "sympathy" to poor multi-millionaire Daniel Craig, his movie career long over. If I feel the itch to see what a typical Bond movie's got to offer. I'll dig out my scratchy Casino Royale blu ray( - or for thrill and nostalgia, On Her Majesty's SS.) From then on the series has the effect achieved with bigger settings, louder action, larger cast, more CGI ridden to make me snore ever more loudly.

I discovered some time ago tequila helps a lot with the ladies. If I buy one of them a tequila others tell me MeToo. What's the point of doing all that movie work when tequila and a little sponsoring works just fine?
