I did my 1-year extension of stay in December 2025 and had to do my '90 day report' about 55 days after that. So, it changed for me as well.

Hi, can anyone who has done their retirement ext. in the last week or so, confirm that the letter and statement from the bank (valid 7 days) does not have to be done on the same day as yr appointment day? I know the bankbook itself must be updated the same day as yr appointment, just wondering if they changed recently in regards the bank letter/statement... tks in advance

You should have the paper with the list of what is need, as you need to book in advance for extension of stay based on retirement and have your paperwork – except bank letter and bank book – checked at that time. The 7 days for bank letter is to my knowledge still valid. If your appointment is early – i.e. morning – and your bank deposit in a fixed account, they use to accept bank book update the day before – I've done that for several years having letter and bank book-update done the day before my appointment (earlier just visiting the immigration office).

Trying to update my TM30 via the usual Thai govt website "Notification of Residence for Foreigners" (https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30api/signupExternal) but I can't get into it - even reset password does not work. Anyone else having problems logging on to this site ? (have tried different browsers). I could just take last years TM30 notice but they will prob reject that...

bit of an update as to what immigration now requires when doing a retirement extension here in Samui.

I had to go to immigration yesterday to do a 90-day report in person because I’ve just renewed my passport. My renewal date of my extension is 27th August so asked to guy downstairs to give me all the paperwork required and asked when I would have to come back to have it checked and be given an appointment date…this is no longer the case. I was given an appointment date there and then (mid-August). The guy In front of me was also looking to make an appointment but was told he was too early and to come back 1 month before his renewal was due, so it now seems that you only need to go once and booking an appointment can be done in the 4-to-6-week period before your renewal is due.

Below is the new (and improved) version of what is now required to complete your extension. I do see that in #9 it says a Google map plus drawn map, I thought the drawn map had been dropped.

Thanks for the update, much appreciated. So, I guess we don't need to do photographs in front of the house showing the house numbers anymore...........I had to do it for the last 2 years. I'll probably do it again this year just to have them handy in case they ask for them. Also, I guess that means we don't need to book an appointment date online.

And it looks like we don't have to do number 8 from last year.........Medical Certificate (Hospital only valid for 7 days). That would be great if we don't have to do that anymore, it's a time consumer.

That 4-6 weeks might depend on how busy they are.

I went at beginning of December 2025 to book an appointment for 19th Jan 2026, and was told all bookings were full. After much huffing and puffing, I was added to the appointment book and told to come 2 months early next time, but warned no appointment more than 45 days out from visa expiry...I think. Totally forgot now.
