webfact
Democrat party joins coalition government to end political uncertainty The Democrat party has decided, by a majority vote, to join a Palang Pracharat-led coalition government in order to put an end to political uncertainty and to “switch off” the continuing power of the junta, said party leader Jurin Laksanavisit at a news conference Tuesday night. The NCPO will disband automatically once a new government takes office. After a fierce debate among the 39 executive committee members and 53 MPs, who were split between those who want to join the coalition and those who want to form an independent opposition, the party took a secret ballot in which 61 voted in favor of joining the coalition and 16 opposed, with two abstentions and one invalid vote. Popular Post bangkokfrog
An interesting photograph. Many smiles (thinking of he rewards) and a few stern faces (acknowledging that the party has sold them out for 30 pieces of silver). They joined with the junta to gain access to the swill trough. If it is true that 30 million baht and 120 million was offered to Future Forward members for each vote cast for PM Prayut then how much did the junta party stump up to buy off the "Democrats"? What a sad and sorry state Thailand is in. The people of Thailand (other than the business elite) can only blame one person.

Popular Post Thailand
Would not "switching off the power of the junta " be more effective by joining the anti junta parties, not by joining them? Or is that wording designed to make them feel better after selling out?

By joining the anti junta parties, whilst the logical democratic approach elsewhere, in Thailand with the enforcement of the old Siam feudal system being orchestrated, it is effectively only grabbing the snakes tale.

Eric Loh
Didn't expect Jurin to have the fortitude to withstand pressure from those junta ex-PDRC party members especially from the South. IMHO a coalition government with a slim majority is a quite desirable result. They will have to govern by consensus of a fairly politically diverse group, so many points of view will have to be catered for. It is certainly far healthier than the previous PTP solid majority riding roughshod over the views of the minority, while taking payment to vote to the command of a family of criminals. There are lies and there are boldfaced lies. This is a whopper. I would like to hear the explanation from Jurin , just exactly how putting the junta back in government with Prayuth driving the tuk tuk amounts to switching off the power of the junta. What a sniveling scumbag. Still, at least Abhisit and a few members of the democrat party have resigned in protest. Small compensation to a swindled electorate.
