ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said it was "never possible" for Turkey to positively consider the $50 billion U.S. peace plan for the Middle East, broadcaster NTV reported on Monday.

The White House last week outlined a $50 billion Middle East economic plan that would create a global investment fund to lift the Palestinian and neighbouring Arab state economies, and fund a $5 billion transportation corridor to connect the West Bank and Gaza.

Speaking to reporters after the G20 summit in Japan, Erdogan also said that the leaders of Russia, Iran and Turkey would hold a summit in July to discuss developments in Syria, NTV said.

Yesterday's photo op with the Little Rocket Man was Trump's attempt to distract attention from the complete fiasco of Kushner's "peace plan"

Now Rocket Man and Putin will fight on who will pull the strings on the Donald puppet. All that way to say hello; spare me!

Since he is such a poor negotiator, he tends to try for the dramatic, in an attempt to fool people into thinking progress is being made. Now, this is the third meeting between Trump and Kim. What has been achieved? What will be achieved? Does anyone in the administration really think Kim will give up his nuclear program? If so, that is wishful thinking. It is never going to happen. Same with Iran. Never going to happen. Sure, they might figure out a way to contain it, but give it up? Say it ain't so.

DOA, you can not buy the heart and souls of the Palestinians. Trump thinks everyone and everything is for sale.  no future for Palestine without State Hood.  no future for Israel without State Hood for the Palestinians.

I absolutely agree with this statement. The Palestinians want and deserve a nation with sovereign borders so Israel won't keep stealing their land. To simply think that they can be bought off shows exactly how stupid and unaware Trump and his people are.

Turkey, Iran and Russia, three oppressive regimes with expansionist illusions.

Hmmm. And where exactly did the Jewish people live originally?

I don't know why you would call them jackals and hyenas when your country's leaders could be called exactly  the same.

Trump and his government may have some big issues but really, if you think they're any where near as evil as Erdogan, Vlad or the Ayatollah and his lunatics you've got some  serious learning deficiencies.

Why don't you include Bolton and Pompeo in that list, then I might agree with you.

Turkey, especially under Erdogan, sought (an seeks) to become a dominant regional player. One of its major rivals, in this regard, is Saudi Arabia.

I think the economic part of the plan, regardless of it's value, pretty much ignores or sidelines Turkey, while giving prominence to Saudi and Gulf countries' involvement and role. Hence Erdogan displays his displeasure by doubling down on his hardliner positions and rhetoric.

Doubt it got a whole lot to do with giving two figs about the Palestinians.

That's fine as a slogan, but ultimately any solution which doesn't amount to the full river-to-the-sea bit can be construed as a buy off.

And the same goes for the shot at equivalency - Israelis got their own state.
