That's what the PR agency told him to say. The REAL 'Thai Brand' is about weaning tourists off their cash then sending them on the first flight home. Or anywhere else they might want to go. Except Thailand.

 

These idiots think the mere mention of 'Thailand' will spur wanderlusts to visit the Kingdom to discover its charm, mystique and culture. I'm sorry, but that boat has already left. What visitors get now is a rusted and crusty nameplate that can't even muster a single gleam, never mind the glitter it once had.

 

A mate who recently visited BKK summed it up: "It didn't feel as sincerely welcoming this time around, as it did 15 years ago."
