BANGKOK, 16 July 2019 (NNT) - The Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, said today the cabinet meeting on July 15 did not approve a budget before the new cabinet takes office. The meeting acknowledged the progress of the Ministry of a Digital Economy and Society and approved papers for ASEAN events this month.

Gen. Prayut said the new cabinet will convene immediately after they are swore-in before His Majesty the King. He said the meeting will discuss work procedures and he will suggest to the new ministers what issues they should continue to pursue to fulfil the government’s mission.

The Prime Minister, in his capacity as the leader of the soon-to-be-defunct National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), will send a letter to the public and various agencies to thank them for working with the council for the last five years.

The Prime Minister stated further that the government must be careful in introducing many measures and that its policy must align with the security plans of the National Economic and Social Development Council, the national strategy and national reform plans. The policy statement will be delivered to the parliament on July 25.

Gen. Prayut reminded all sides to remember that the policy statement declaration is not a censure debate, saying that the parliament’s meeting on July 25 is a meeting in which members of parliament propose ideas to help make the government’s policy complete. He added that he personally respected everyone in the opposition, the government, and members of the public.

Gen. Prayut declined to comment on whether his policy statement contains word of a charter amendment, but confirmed that he supported revision to any problematic law.

Does that include swearing at female journalists, by offering them 'a punch in the mouth'?

The PM will hold a cabinet meeting, surely it should read PM telling cabinet, you lot do as your told or else you get a punch in the mouth.

Any idea how to find out when it will be televised?

Yes it would be very enlightning and amusing to see a weekly PM's question time as in the UK and elswhere watching Uncle Tuu trying to wiggle out of awkward questions!

Civilian government hey? Does that mean the ministers will be called MR. instead of General because really that is all that has happened. Throw off the army uniform put on the yellow top But i bet if things go pear shape the army uniforms will be out of the closet in a hurry

Old soldiers never die, they just form a government.
