I bought a new Acer Aspire 9423 WSMi laptop -17"- with duo processor which comes with the new Vista Home Premium software.

Before I had a normal PC with XP professional.

I noticed a remarkable slower connection with Thaivisa -from Europe-; however, I just checked the laptop at a friends' place who has a much faster connection with a different Provider and the Thaivisa connection (opening certain topics with many pics) was also VERY SLOW, including from 2 different computers at his place....!

What could be the problem?

Untill last week the Thaivisa pages loaded very fast but now it takes quite a while before every page opens...... :o

Hope to hear some input.

What browser are you using?

I use Windows Internet explorer; we tried Firefox (both from a connection in Europe) and it showed it was even a little slower.... :o

Thaivisa has terrible latency from North America too. Fast loading once it starts but there's always that delay first.

Your Firefox slowness can be resolved with Firetune

Which was going to be my suggestion too if FF was in the equation.

With IE were both machines using IE7?

I have Internet Explorer 7.0.6000.16386; don't know if my friends' PC was running on that as well but his connection with Thaivisa was also VERY slow; and he uses a very fast broadband connection. He's an expert on software and PC's and told me it must be the connection/servers from TV....

That's why I am still puzzled why my 3 year old PC with XP professional was so much faster than this state of the art Acer 9423WSMi laptop with VISTA.... :o (I disconnected my WLAN connection, so now just LAN) but even so, it's a LOT slower than my old PC. :D
