AussieThaied called me over to see the Crows game last night - starting at 22:00 as in 10:00pm as in during the night. Being a supporter of the Crows I duly headed into town and arrived to be told that it had been telecast at 10:30 am as in the morning. He then told me the score<sigh>

Still being there and him heading off at the end of the week we settled down to watch the Television from out the back door as we had a couple of beers and some MAINLAND VINTAGE CHEESE on crackers with pastrami and salami. Just the thing to keep two undernourished blokes happy. Now you may be wondering how we can watch the tele from the backyard but let me explain it with the phrase Hoyts/Greater Union cinema complex in the living room. The screen is so big it can cover the whole width of the Telstra dome in real size. Watching porn on this thing must be one of life's more humiliating experiences but it is great for the footy.

With the crows show over I said I would stay and watch the first quarter of the Dockers v Tigers game - don't know if you guys watched it but it was a cracking good game. The final score didn't really reflect how tight the game was. Needless to say I stayed to the end and at 1:00am headed off home to be at work at 7:00am - worth it though.

Congrats to the winners even those god###n cats

Hey Lindsay - what time zone are you on down in BKK? You put up the results for round 1 and the rest of us are in round 11. However the Blues did do well to overcome the Power last weekend

Carlton 22.9 (141)

Port Adelaide 14.18 (102)

I always go to the Aussi Grand Final bash put on by the Australian Chamber of Commerce.

Not as good as actually being there, but it's always a pretty pissy occasion.

:o

Grand Final? You in a different Time Zone to us as well Jai Dee? If so who is playing this year - and remember no fantasy wet dreams about Geelong being in it :D

Actually my post was in response to MiG16's query about anyone going to Bangers to watch the football in July.

It's far too early in the season to be making Grand Final predictions yet.

I would like to see Geelong there... but it's still early days yet.

/Edit - If there's enough interest from ThaiVisa members wishing to attend the AustCham Grand Final, I could probably organise a table. Let me know if you're interested.

JaiDee

I was referring to this....

Asia’s biggest-ever Australian rules football tournament has been confirmed for Thailand in July as the sport continues to expand in the region with competition for the trophy sure to be intense through Singapore attempting a three-peat.

Ten teams from China, Dubai, Hong Kong, Indonesia (two teams – Bali and Jakarta) Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and of course Thailand will compete for the coveted Asian Australian Rules Football Championship at the Patana International School on Saturday July 14.

and of course the Asian Confed football cup....Aussie vs Iraq on the 13thJul, and Aussie vs Thailand on the 16th......

much as Id love to go to all 3 games....will only be around for the 13th.....so will try to get tickets for that......however...its not the aussie rules that day :o anyone else will still come along to cheer the aussies?? :D

Quietly optimistic mate.

I've been sorely disappointed in years gone by... :o

williams has called his players soft and craigy reckons the Crows cant rely on their defensive game and must learn to attack.

both coaches are probably right

Craig's players can only do what he's taught them, their whole game plan is about not losing rather than winning.

Williams is probably a bit harsh, there's a lot of kids in that side and the expectations at Port are huge. People forget that when Port entered the AFL they came in with practically nothing, one out of contract player in Wanganeen and they picked up Primus because no one else wanted him. Every expert and commentator in the country predicted they would wooden spooners for the rest of the next century but in seven years they had a premiership. A lot of clubs would rest on their laurels while rebuilding, but not Port, it's like a pressure cooker in that club and anything less than a premiership just isn't good enough. Anyone (like sceadugenga) who was around the club when Port Adelaide Magpies were averaging three flags a decade for more than a century knows what I'm talking about.

Yeah and I would like to see Elle MacPherson curled up under my doona which will be about as likely as the Cats making the Finals

I am very interested because assuming there won't be any victorian teams again this year we should be in for a great game

Wow two shots in one message must be a record

Glenelg beat Norths today ye ye hehe 55555

As a previous resident on the Esplanade, almost opposite the Brighton Jetty I have a soft spot for the Tigers but I am really a North fan. I have been out of SA so long now I have no idea of who is playing what or how they are doing.

Had a hard time getting a park at the Broadway Hotel on the day so they had a good crowd.

Good for local footy, and that's where the AFL players learn their craft.

Won't see much craft down there mate, two flags in their history and both against North Adelaide, say no more. If you want to see real footy played at grass roots level, get the tram to town then the train to Alberton. No parking problems and you can have a few beers in the best club rooms in the state afterwards. You never know you may even get a few autographs, Ginever, Hodges, Phillips, Clifford, aah.... South Australian footy history mate.

get a train to alberton, no trains to alberton, 555555555.

be a real port supporter,

flog a car from jetty road,

rape a shiela you pick up from seaton(probably not rape cause it's his/her sister),

get pissed at the alberton pub(already had a skinfull at the seaton, links and royal park),

miss the game altogether

wake up in the port Adelaide watch house for breakfast, and depending on the previous day, with half of the the magpie team and the greater population of port adelaide 5555555555

another question

what's the difference between a port adelaide supporter and a sperm?

sperm has a one in 50000 million chance of becomming a human
