I need to replace my timer battery and connector. The battery is a 2.4 V 80mAh Ni-M battery.

Or, just replace the connector, as it's the 2 pin female connector that is the problem.

I seem to be able to order the battery without the connector on line, but not battery and connector.

Thank you.20190802_112558.jpg20190802_113207.jpg

Any tv or computer service should be able to replace connector.
Tried that, not where I live. Thanks anyway.

Then would look for connector with wires - easy enough to splice together.  Aliexpress mail order or ebay or even Lazada might have.

I had a bunch used for low voltage lighting at one time.  Another method would be to just solder or crimp the wires directly to the male connector pins or to wires connecting to them.

Thanks for suggestions but I don't want to solder to the male pins.

The females don't have to be in that connecter if too lose - you could remove the plastic and just slip onto the pins (making tighter if needed) - just be sure to remember which side is red.  You are sure battery is OK?  Just because you may measure correct voltage without use does not guarantee it is good for purpose required.  Connectors do not normally fail.  Are the metal parts covering the pins OK when connected?

One of the female sockets is corroded with blue corrosion and the wire is not attached to the pin anymore, I've pushed it in to make contact but it shakes lose when the contactor in the box operates. It's OK when I'm here as I know to check the battery power is connected to the clock if the mains fails, but when I'm away my fixit man hasn't been shown how to poke around inside the contactor box.

I've cut the connector out but bit difficult to fix properly.

Time to get it fixed. Only need a new connector, but best to replace the battery as well, but I can't see as yet an online supply for the battery and connector.

Next step if I luck out here is to go to the timer clock supplier.

Thanks again.

If the male pins are a problem then Your best option will be to cut the connections to the existing pins and put get a new different connecting block (do get a spair).

If the male pins are OK then your going to have difficulty finding a new female block. So in that case you have a couple of options one is to buy a battery that has a connector on it and take those female sockets out of the existing the connecting block that comes with the battery.  Having done that you have the options of either plugging the female connectors onto the pins without a connecting block, or you can possibly put the new female connectors into your old connecting block it will connect properly .

Don't forget that once you've done that you'll probably be best advised to cover the pins in a Vasoline, silicone grease or some other rust preventative coating.

'one is to buy a battery that has a connector on it'. That's the problem, as yet I can't find one.

Next step is to contact the timer supplier.

Thanks for the tip about vasaline on the pins.

This is where the battery lives, in a small compartment.

Thanks for all replies, I'll get in touch with timer supplier.20190803_071504.jpg

Good luck if a local sold product as spare parts are often hard to find/costly and both - one of those watch batteries I provided links suspect could easily be inserted on top of timer case and connected without any modifications being required, no operational need to fit into compartment.

You are right. I wasn't thinking 'outside the box'. Should do nicely stuck on top of the box.

Checked another brand pool pump timer and they want over B1000. My timer only cost about B900.

Thanks again for the links.
