Bangkok is a huge city. those others are good sized, not towns but cities. People have many reasons to live in cities, as many as those who live in the country. Entertainment and restaurants close to work and apartments being two. Many love huge cities, as can be seen in all major cities worldwide. I have relatives that were born in Brooklyn and rarely left except to visit relatives. Millions do and also rarely leave except for vacations or business. There are cultures and charm in major cities although I prefer the country outside them. Kanchanaburi is isolated , being over an hour away from Bangkok, out in the country.
