Prayut makes tacit admission of failure to utter proper oath before taking office

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha on Thursday apologised to his Cabinet members for the ongoing controversy regarding his taking of the oath before taking office in what was seen as a tacit admission that he had failed to complete the wording of the oath as required by the constitution.

 

The controversy has been raging since before just the government policy debate, when Future Forward secretary general Piyabutr Saengkanokkul said Prayut was not constitutionally qualified to work as the prime minister because he had failed to properly take the oath of office. 

 

Piyabutr alleged that Prayut ended his oath statement before saying he would protect the constitution.

 

Prayut earlier argued that he had spoken the oath correctly and and the YouTube clip presented by Piyabutr might be edited. 

 

But when Prayut held a meeting of top executives of government agencies at the Grand Diamond Ballroom of Impact, Muang Thong Thani, he issued an apology. 

 

“I would like to apologise to ministers. I’ve done my part to the best of my ability. Anyway, the country must move forward and this government must move forward too,” Prayut said while addressing the top permanent officials.

 

He said he would take all the blame for the controversy and he had only one concern – how to ensure the government could go on working.

“I take all the blame myself,” Prayut said.

 

“We must study how the charter has been written. No matter what, the government exists.”

 

He said he would not give any further interviews on this issue.

Matters little what this guy and his cronies say or do not say on oath as they are habitual hypocrites, they also have support for their actions according to outside sources.

Just watch old Teflon Prayut slide effortlessly away with this 'minor' mistake. 

 

And at the same time FFP are being accused in the constitutional court  of being part of the illuminati based on their logo (a triangle) looking like the illuminati logo... Yep a triangle. 

 

Now imagine the unholy bun fight that would have ensued if FFP has omitted the lst sentence like Prayut.

Sounds suspiciously like he has no choice here. No mention of re-taking the oath with the entire body of required text.

 

If, for some reason, they are not permitted to utter that final sentence it's probably time to become quite concerned about the future direction the country may take.

Maybe Prayut and his ministers, who also apparently omitted the same section of their oath, were told it was not necessary.

Well it matters to them.

 

That is why he avoided uttering parts of the oath that would constrain him from taking unilateral, unconstitutional, illegal action against the "ordinary" people of Thailand.

 

So that in the future, after doing so, he could defend/justify himself by claiming that he broke no oath.

 

The same sort of mindset that enabled post WW2 Thailand to claim that its de-facto alliance with the Japanese, declaration of war against the Allies and complicity in war crimes "didn't really happen".

 

You see they do think ahead.

 

But not in a "nice" way.
